Is there anyway to convert terrain on a map to a different tileset or specifically a way to change a cliff type? I know of a few possibilities but I am hoping for a better one. Using the WEU Enhancer I can change a cliff tile but it says the game would have to be launched with the WEU Patch so that is right out. I also know that I could copy and paste terrain from my current map to a new map with the different tileset, however I would also have to export/import everything else and I am worried it might not be worth the effort and I may miss/mangle stuff and have a broken map. Plus I customized the tileset so it probably won't copy over so nicely, I don't know. I could also import the cliff texture that I want from the other tileset but that would be a frivolous waste of filespace. So is copying the whole map to a different tileset doable, or is there another way? |

My thoughts exactly. :S Your question confuses me. |

You mean like changing the kinds of cliff you can have right? I know that can't be done through the modify tileset method. I didn't even know this could be done... |

Yes, I mean changing the cliff types duh. That is what I said in my first post. I decided that I was dumb and based my map on the wrong tileset, I don't like either of the cliff types, unfortunately they are inseperable from the tileset so far as I know. |

I believe you can do it with the WEU Enhancer. |

Yeah but with the Enhancer someone has to run a patch to see the cliffs properly. I'm actually pondering this problem myself. I need 2 city style cliffs on one map. |

No, i mean you can use the Enhancer to switch the base tileset. I know it's possible, i remember doing it several times. |

It told me I would need to start the game with the patch even for that. Do you think it is a lie? Ares_Warblade, I would say you have to import the skin for the other city cliff except I think it would end up being crooked like the original natural cliff and there is no tileset with two straight cliffs. ![]() |

He's trying to help you, and you're rude. "Yes, I mean changing the cliff types duh. That is what I said in my first post. I decided that I was dumb and based my map on the wrong tileset, I don't like either of the cliff types, unfortunately they are inseperable from the tileset so far as I know." Sorry, i'm just being a bitch. |

I was correct, you can use the WEU Enhancer to switch tilesets: Start the WEU Enhancer Hit the Edit Map button Find your map and open it Look in the bottom left corner, you should see a little tileset display, make sure the box which says "Use custom tileset" is unchecked and then switch the base tileset from the dropdown box above. Press save, ignore any popup menus that go on about using the patch, it's lying. Open up your map in the World Editor, the tileset should have switched to the new one with the exception of cliffs. To switch the cliffs, simply get a cliff tile from your new base tileset and paint it over a small area, all connected cliffs should then transform into the new cliffs. Make sure you get all the old cliffs and turn them into new cliffs. Re-Open the WEU Enhancer and repeat the first set of steps to remove the old cliff tiles. Open your map in the WE, you now have a new clean tileset from which to start. |
