hey, ive been looking into making bigger mmos, with fully customed music, sounds, models, ect.a not to mention a HUUGE enviroment... except this wont host on blizzard because the max file size is 5 mb... is there a way to bypass this? |

Hack the server. Really, there is no other way, just cut down the size, it will take the bnet players a lot of time to download anyways |

I suggest that you make it a mod, everyone who have the mod will be able to play the map(s). |

oh good idea.... except how will i mod somthing like that? when i say bigger then 5 mb i dont mean somthing thats godly 256 mb or somthing... more like 7 or 8 mb... slightly over the limit... |

cut down the size an extra 2 or 3 mb is not worth making it a mod.... |

i ment imported into the map... i dont want to remake the enitre game to suit one map.........OR DO I?! ok great... thanks... EDIT: Never mind that wont work because the base file size is 8.65 Mb... i havnt even done anyhting to it yet... ok next question.... is this 5 mb limit also apply to tcp/ip games too? if so... then i have this question... is bit possible to host it myself? make my OWN host for this map? |

The limit is actualy 4 MB and it applies to both battle.net and LAN games. It might be possible to do with memory hacking, but I am not sure how will it be handled after the game is hosted (i.e when players join the game). |
