Removing a hero's weapon

I was wondering how I remove a hero's (or unit's) weapon. I know how to attach weapons, just not sure how to remove the base one (like the Paladin's hammer or Archmage's staff, for example.)

(If this is the wrong forum, I'm very very sorry, I couldn't really tell the different between this one and the other model forum.)

Wrong forum, because you're talking about editing and not scratch modelling.

you have to edit the model to remove a weapon, you could use the Vertex Modifier by Onkerwinkle to do this.
