WinMPQ Issues

Alrighty, i'm trying to mass-add about 300 odd files to a map file. They're all in different paths and i don't want to spend ages going through each path, so i thought i'd put them all in folders and then just import the folder as a whole so WinMPQ uses the subfolders as the path.

It worked, to a degree, for some reason when i try to add teh folder in WinMPQ commits suicide and only imports the first 20 or so files. If i try to mass-import the folders into another mpq file instead of a map file, it works fine. So my question is: What's wrong and how do i fix it?

Maybe your map map is full (hashtable full) while your mpq still has some empty space.

What does that mean?

It means that when you open the map in the editor and add another file with the import manager, then save the map, then there'll be more space for files and you can again use your MPQeditor to import more files.

Ah, well this plan didn't work anyway. I was going to put all the data into a map file, then Widgetize it and use the .exe made to work all teh custom stuff, but Widgetiser doesn't keep the "Use Frozen Throne" property of the unit data and it doesn't keep imported data either, so it's back to the drawing board.

Another question: .exe's can be opened like mpq files so long as they have mpq data in them, but if a .exe doesn't have that data, none of the mpq programs i have can open them and thus put that data in. So here's my question: How can i put files into the Frozen Throne.exe, since MPQ Master and WinMPQ can't open it?

I really fail to see why'd you want to do that. In any case, you can try try MPQ Embedder

Because from numerous tests i've done, the abilitydata.slk fails to work when put into a custom .mpq, but DOES work when put into the .exe. I don't know why, but it works.
