I want some ideas for mini games that require you to think or something that involves using your mind, not mindless clicking or other stuff a mentally challenged person could do better than you! Dynamically generated content - meaning something that creates the game in that moment, so that you can't learn it by heart and redo it. |

My idea would be Sudoku. |

Erm, sure, only half of the game would pass trying to solve it, presets would repeat, gen engine would be too much pain anyways and could spit out some unsolvable one. Not that they'd be using too much logic anyways, more in the lines of guessing. Anyway, something that is short, not longer than a minute at most. |

A minute.... Man you gotta be more flexible then that. Ill put up more suggestions as I think em up. How about a Number puzzle? You get 3 Beacons and 2 Numbers. You have to make both numbers Equal. Each Beacon Adds and Subtracts differant amounts to each. For extra challenge you could slap a timer on it and add a trigger to remove a number from the acceptable answers and have em redo it adding time each time they make an equal pair. How about a Strategy game of some kind? Possibly Rock papper sissors esque. Im kinda spacing on specifics for this one right now. Ill get back to you. |

I don't get the number puzzle, but yea, some strategic one should do :) An advanced version of the rock/paper/scissory thing. So far I got only 2, a memory game and a riddle game, but I need something that makes you consider/evaluate some stuff, just not counting(thats something you do in kindergarten). I need 4-5 games like this. |

Maybe Statistic Evaluations? It displays 2 Unit's statistics and asks which will win Like this Dope- Health: 500 Armor: 20 Damage: 50 Speed: 1.25 Mope- Health: 500 Armor: 50 Damage: 20 Speed: 0.75 |

For this I'd have to have made all the balancing of WC3 myself in order to come up with a formula that would be able to decide in every situation. This is proving tougher than I ever expected it to be! I wonder why... |

You could just make said units and have em fight it out. |

How about trivia? Quick and easy. Or maybe a betting game where you bet on one of 2-3 units, then they duke it out to see who wins (obviously you see the stats of each unit first) |

Didnt I say that before? Well no matter. Maybe a Minigame Tournament? Where before hand you choose say 6 differant Items out of a vendor or two. With each item giving differant benefits but also making you weaker in some way. Maybe with some spell Items too? Possibly Allowing you to rechoose after each match? |

offtopic: May I please ask what's a "pseudo card game" and "hot and cold"? ontopic: I think that quizes, trivia, the unit-betting game will be good. Also, maybe a predicting game. Like there will be a pattern of units (or weather), and the players try to predict what will come next. |

Pseudo card game: A simplified or lameified Mgaic The Gathering, YuGiOh, or whatever. Hot and Cold: Old children's game where you hide something, and another person starts looking for it. The only clues you can give him is wether he is hot or cold (that is, wether he is close or not to find it). Yeah, have been playing FF9 a little too much. |

"Hot and Cold" sounds wonderful. "I Spy" is also a classic. For either of these, randomly select a widget within a given range (screen's area would be best); for "Hot and Cold" you could make it respond with "hotter" or "colder" when it gets closer or further respectively; in "I Spy" you could have it give periodic clues refering to the object and possibly have a timer which counts down the number of points one may win. Super Mario RPG is also chock-full of minigames. See if you can find some inspiration from these: http://sotss.classicgaming.gamespy.c...page=minigames EDIT: Oh, and never forget the power of riddles. Your best bet for riddles would be to Google for a site which has compiled tons of them and modify them to fit the context of your setting. |
