Lately I've been working on two maps, one of which you might have already heard of (The Lost Legend Of Heroes) and the second is a new map which I started yesterday called "Hidden" (Might change the title of the mod later) which is a single-player action/adventure genre map.
You are a Rogue and you play in the view of the Rogue. A bit of a spoiler is that you are a Rogue who has joined the Guild of Thieves, an 'internal' rebellion against the kingdom of Stonehelm, mainly because of Stonehelm's corruption. So you work for a ranking officers of the guild and your job is to do the jobs that you are given from your officers. Your objectives can lead up from Pick-Pocketing, to Assassination, and even to Infiltrating homes, shops, and castles.

The main thing that makes this more strategic and hard is that it's almost impossible to kill a Guard or Soldier of Stonehelm that patrols around the city, unless if you can find a special way to tricking the guard to run into a trap of some sort. Some guards are easier than others and some are hard as hell, and sometimes truely impossible. One thing that IS impossible is killing a 'Soldier of Stonehelm'. They are basicly an elite fighting force that will usually come out if you are either killing alot of guards somehow or if a civilian calls out for help numerous times. However, there are possible ways to getting away from guards. It is greatly doubtful that a guard will chase you all over the city, especially since it is midnight, meaning that there are many shadows to hide in and pop out of, giving you a slight advantage on overthrowing guards and getting away from them. However, shadows CAN have their down sides, as you are not the only one who may be on the prowl for blood...

I have been working on a way to actually interact with different objects around the city. Taking advantage of objects for your own safety or for quests such as a Hay Pile(s) and the ability to light them on fire. Something i've been thinking about making was the ability to create your own barricades with the objects around you, just like you can in Half-Life2. But I'm not sure if I have enough knowledge about how to trigger that gruntugly.gif

Every time you complete a given task from your officers, you will need to return the the Guild of Thieves hide-out and retrieve another task from them. The hide-out is the only place that you can buy equipment, food, etc. since outside vendors won't sell their goods to 'your kind', hence the reason why you'll need to steal from the greedy bastards later on in the game.

I'm trying to give the map a really good storyline too, but I'll save that for later.

The website for this mod is here.

I tested the map with the first person view and everything, and it wasn't that laggy really. I'm trying to keep a filesize lower than 80megs so it won't be as bad as TLLOH
After I finish this project I'll release a seperate version, recommended primarily for slower computers for better performance. I might do the same when I release a demo version as well.

The indoor shot is cool, you're going to get bored and stop with 10 unfinished mods.

Thank you, Super-Sheep. And if any of you are wondering why the terrain looks flat in many areas, that's just to keep the camera from screwing up. These screenshots are pretty old and I've added quite a bit to the real map. Once I get my computer back, I can post more screenshots and maybe update the info about it and hopefully update the Project's Status a bit too.
