Odd editor bug

Alright, this has been happening for 3 or 4 months now. Whenever I open a map in my editor(WEU, latest version), it removes all the units placed on the map. No units show up at all, and I checked all of the options in the editor. I cant explain why this is happening. I've tried reinstalling Warcraft completely, and still no luck. Anyone have an idea?

Sounds like you may need to reinstall.

Perhaps you simply have it set to not show units on the map? If that's the case, they'd still show up when you open the unit palette, so I suspect that's not the problem.

Also, I checked all of the options, including the view menu. Thirdly, if I save the map after opening it and the units being removed, they also will not appear when playing the map in Warcraft.

Are you working on a map within a campaign, by any chance?

It happens to any map, regardless of the map type or the original creator.

Do you have, within your Warcraft III root directory, a file such as "war3MapUnits.[something]"?

(Clutching at straws here.)

I do have a war3mapunits.doo file in my root Warcraft directory. Am I supposed to leave that there, or put it somewhere?

Delete it.

Aye, that's your problem. Editor reads files in the directory as higher priority than stuff actually in the map.

Yes, that fixed it. Thanks for all your help!
