I've been working on this for the past year.

3 lane AOS, walkable space between the lanes with re-spawning neural creeps. Some creeps will drop items like potions.

Each side have a group of shops that sell items and upgrade recipes. Each side also have a mercenary shop where players can buy support units to attack or repair.

Wood is not used, and players get money from kills and an allowance system.

I eliminated other elements like custom music/sound, weather effects, and cinematics because I thought these would take up space. On the other hand, I used imported models, skins and icons to spice up things. My aim is to have the map's size under 1.5Mb (so far, success,.. it's only 1.43Mb).

There are game modes like "less towers" (since each lane have multiple towers of different kinds and I wanted an option to just let people play with a single type tower/lane), "easy mode" where creeps and NPCs have only 80% life and players get 2x allowance, and "death match" where you win if you manage to kill an enemy player for more than 10x.

Originally a regular AOS map, frequent test plays always seem to yield the same result: people want it more like DotA. So it has shifted into that (although many normal AOS elements are still intact).

I myself think it's a solid map, but I'm dying to get it into "perfect". So that's where this forum comes in.

If you're a good ability editor, or you have a lot of time to spend playing with friends who can give you input too; I need you :).
Although the map is pretty much up and running right now, I'm still very open. Meaning that I want partners, not just people who'd help me out. This would be OUR map.

Thanks!

I know this is kind of spam but just for you to look a little more professional offence is actually spelled offense.

I would volunteer for full time work but i'm working on Vietnam War right now so sry.

Some hints: To make it very unique I suggest making side quests to earn gold and experience. Let's say on the east side of the map (no NPCs go there) you see a troll by his hut and he asks you to clear a swamp of murguls so he can fish there. Stuff like that.

World events like rain, snow, thick fog (can be acheived through terrain fog in triggers), all kinds of stuff like that too.

Rules for this section.

Basically, you need more information. Also, you ought to upload the map here, rather than linking off-site.

In my defense, I'm an idiot T_T

Anyway, good idea indeed. I had begun inserting mini quests (2 "big" bad guys you can kill for unique items), but didn't think about adding a quest where you'd have to do something other than kill.

I don't really know what other info to write. It's a fairly large map (not size, but number of customized things). The type is Hero Defense/AOS. 2 sides, maximum of 10 players. The Hero type so far is already >54 (though I had stopped making new heroes in favor of making the map better/more balanced). I use the recipe system, but adding somewhat more logic to it (swords become better swords, not crossbows, etc).
And the link is to make it easier for both me and this site.. I don't need to reupload and this site is not burdened by another file. Also, it's not really a difficult link to get to. Still, if I MUST upload on this site too, I will.

Write some stuff about what sets it apart from other AoSes. This isn't just from the point of view of the rules, but I seriously doubt anyone decent will be willing to help with just another clone AoS, especially not on sketchy information.

Oh okay. I understand. Here we go:

The initial project codename was "man versus wild", one side controls the more 'human' type hero and units, and the other more 'natural' ones. I am not using much of Warcraft's names like "night elves" or "Lordaeron" but rather, names from an old story I wrote.

I hope that's detailed enough.... Feel free to ask me anything if it isn't though. Thanks again.

That's fine.

I don't really see anything that sets it apart from other maps, though. That's going to be a big issue, because otherwise people are either going to:

- Go straight back to DoTA.
- Call it a DoTA clone, and not play it.

AH! :D Thanks for doing that to the original post!

So anyway, I'm aware of the problem of people calling it a clone. One of the reasons why I need partners is to inject it with new, fresh ideas. I have some on my own but I still need it improvised.

For instance, I am making a cooperation system between Hero abilities, where a type of ability can improve others. So far I have implemented this on elemental abilities (cold/hot abilities will add more damage to other damage of its kind). My plan is to have some of these abilities cancel each other too in the future.

Here's an update. With Illidan92's suggestion (adding periodic weather change)

http://epicwar.com/maps/9184/

I'm done adding heroes/items and will now concentrate on adding functions and side quests :)
