An idea for a cool fighter project

ive had this in mind for awhile now, i have a few questions too if youd like to help me out...

ok heres an idea on the gameplay for my fighter project....

when 2 persons are about to engage in battle, normal you would just right click him/her and your characer will run up to it and start attacking repeatedly...

EEEENT WRONG not here! because in this project you must choose your attack style for each swing of your weapn... and if you choose an attack style according to the correct patter you could pull out a combo attack!

if you get hit by somone elses attack you get stuned for a half second to interupt your attack, and you can also counter if you are stuned and use counter and somone hits you again during that half second you counter the blow by stuning them and realeasing a swift attack style on them... which could be countered too....

also there will be certain blows in combos with knock back, and knock down....

knock back will be your character if hit with knock back sliding away from the enemy... and knock down will be the death animation and a stun for 1.5 seconds... after that you get back up...

attack styles will be

swift attack - cast speed 0.3 seconds and cool down is 0.3 second with low attack power

heavy attack - cast speed 1.2 seconds and cool down is 2 seconds with high attack power

and circle attack - AOE around the caster cast speed 5 second and cool down is 10 seconds with very high attack power and knock down

combos can be executed like so....

swift - swift - heavy - swift - = following 3 hit combo very fast attacks middle dmg power

thats all i can say about it now but now for my questions:

i havnt looked much but im looking for a default hero ability that matches this criteria:
no range, must target somthing, no missles, no buffs/debuffs, no special effects, i e damage over time or aoe or stuff like that...

i need this so i can create the swift and heavy attack ability... if there is a hero ability that closley mathces this cirteria that you know of please tell me..

so what do you guys think? is this unique? or somone else already think of it that i dont know about?

please move this if need be im not familiar with these forums so i dont have a good idea where this kind of thread should go... sorry.

Nothing too new, has had these ideas lots of time. If you can pull it through it'd be pretty neat tho.

Impractical because of the delay involved in bnet games. The Warcraft's network code isn't that of a first person shooter that would allow such precision.

seriusly, sometime i was thinking...

why people try so hard to make wc3 into shooting game like cs while they can just quit the game and play cs itself =_=" (no offence !! i'm talking to myself !!)

btw agree with Anitarf, even on9 cs (which is a FULL 1st person shooter game) will lag, not to talk about wc3 converted 1st person shooter who involve massive trigger and loops before you do anything, the lag could increase by 0.3-1 sec, but thats BAD lag for any shooting game =|

In singleplayer it would work fine tho. Also, as much as I agree about the delay, the major wc3 aos rely much on fast refexes and the result is not so bad.

you dont need first person view for this... you can use the regular view

I wasn't talking about the view, I was talking about the network code. First person shooters are a genre that's most sensitive to delay in multiplayer games. The map type proposed in this topic is similar in that regard.

myeah... this is like what im talking about only mine will be more fast paced and stuff with knock back and knock down
