All that is found in upgradedata.slk

Also make sure that if you do above level 3's in your map, you have to make sure each player has the ability to research to level 3 (which would seem pretty obvious I guess, but just stating it anyways).

I've attached an example file which uses standard gold costs but has a 255 limit on most upgrades:

The .slk file is an MS Excel format file.

You modify the map by placing the .slk file into the units\ folder inside the .w3m using winMPQ.

If you don't know how to do any of the above, then I suggest you read some of the tutorials on this site to explain how to do that in greater detail.

If you don't have MS Excel to open the .slk, you will either have to get someone who owns it to help you or you are out of luck.

Well it's pretty easy to do, I was a big fan of the "test of survival" maps in my starcraft days and made a few customized versions of the "test of survival - DEATH" maps on starcraft using big upgrades there (mostly because I had a cool editor and could add stuff the extisting maps didn't seem to have).

Let me know what you want, I can create it in just a few minutes and will attach it to this thread.

Oh forgot to mention - use the file I attached earlier if you want to see an example of what it does - use WinMPQ, open up a standard .w3m (after you save it to a backup version first of course), then add in abilitydata.slk using winMPQ, with the path of "units\", then compress the file. Open it up in War3 and then you'll see you can upgrade past level 3 in armor / weapons etc.

can edit prices too? if so id like to able to go about lvl 35 with the 4 main orcs upgrades, maybe start at 500 and go up by 50 each time, and then make all the other orc upgrades (like shaman mastery, witch, pulerize...etc) like 600. i can change unit prices in the editor

Alright here is one I whipped up, all base upgrade costs are 500 for each race, max upgrade level is 35 for all weapons / armor etc, and all other abilities for orcs cost 600 instead of 500. 50 extra wood per upgrade level.

Try it out tell me what ya think.

Did you make sure and put "units\" as the directory when adding it to the .w3m file?

It should show up as units\upgradedata.slk when you look at it in winMPQ.

Also try opening the map twice while still in the warcraft3 interface, there is a bug sometimes where it doesn't load custom stuff properly until the 2nd time you load it.
