I'm not sure in which forum to post this, but I'm sure that wc3campaigns.com is the right place for this, because you guys know everything about Warcraft III that there is to know. I'm right now using a widescreen notebook. It is possible to set the Warcraft III resolution to widescreen by some registry changes. However the game looks stretched. Is it possible to change the field of view of the game to 84? (Am I right that the Warcraft III default FoV is 70, and is that math even right?) Also would it maybe be possible to change the interface so that it is not stretched, but has some blank bars between the sections? edit: I've tried modifiyng the blizzard.j file in the War3Patch.mpq, but somehow it doesn't work. Did I miss something? Also I would like to know whether or not the Battle.net would see this as cheating before I try anything. I don't want to be banned because I use a widescreen monitor... |

Sorry, but I'm almost 100% that there is no way to do it, especially not on b.net. You see, that little extra FOV actaully is a cheat, though a very insignificant one. Blizzard is very good at keeping the game fair, for that reason I think that their games are virtually the only ones that leave room for someone to change the FOV, though I think they'll have to enable the feature in their new games, cuz widescreen monitors are getting more and more popular. The only help I can give you is a recommendation to go to the site www.widescreengamingforums.com and there you should find the help you need for other games, cuz Warcraft 3 is deemed unchangeable on that site (though you can change the resolution through the registry). |

*bump* (I suppose that is allowed once the thread is no longer on page 1) If noone knows how to change the field of view and how to change the interface, then can you at least forward me to someone who should know? I mean there must have been a modification in the past with a custom interface. And I think I remember something about an FPS. Did they change the FOV? |
