My insomnia streak is leading me to try skinning again. This character is for a map idea I'm working with, and the recolour/cut/paste method to make a darker looking char didn't satisfy me so I started scribbling this up. This bone armour theme kinda spiraled out of the depths of my imagination, but now its getting to the hard part of the detailing and stuff. Also the shoulders wrap soo damn ugly. That is a good as I can get it with the skulls, if I knew how it exactly wrapped it might be easier to adapt what I had before. Also the cape, I dunno what to do with the cape >< Right now its a cut/paste/recolour.

Kinda looking for some pointers and ideas. The knee skull looks silly got to touch that up xD. Kinda should of polished it a bit more but I am in a jam, so heres the WIP hehe. The sword/hammer can be ignored atm since I got ideas for their designs. I will be skinning them both just to have a weapon of choice option. The book is still in scribble up a design phase. The spine is gonna be a spine kekekek xD

OH i just saw that subforum for WIP's >< ooooops lol evil subforums can move this if you like =P

Hoolyyy doody, that is crazy mad good whack cold fashizzle. But seriously, looks awesome. The idea of making Arthas into a "Bone Lord" as I can describe it, is something I have not seen before. BUT, it looks EXTREMELY monotone, maybe add some red/green to it

THe wrap on the bracers made me rofl. You'll have to try and fix some of those areas. When you skin, the result on the model is more important then the 1337 of your unwrap.

It also desporately needs color.

Yes, as Ewrt said, it needs colour. Right now it's way too white, natural bone is much more beige, and make it a bit dirty too.

And yeah, you need to fix a few parts where the UV is fecked up.

And the head, hair and cape also need more work.

You mean change the texture of the gauntlets. I doubt hes going to remap the model.

Maybe to add color but to keep it this hue, make it all icey and frosty, so add some light blues in there and some ice on him.

Yeah the shoulder wrap is a rotfl Not worried about the 1337 of the unwraped look, but I am defiantly trying to get those to look more decent. I think I am going to scrap the skull thing for the shoulders and must make it some kind of bone weeve. I tried soo much rearrangement and they always wrap horrible with the skull idea xD. The bracers/gauntlet things will try and rework to, since the teeth are on his hands xD

The hair I just recoloured for now, kinda looking for hair ideas atm. I got an idea on how I am doing the face now so going to work on that next. The cape is driving me bonkers, I have an idea and will sketch it out and post later to see what you all think.

I like the colour suggestion, I will get some yellow in there. Was thinking too black and white =P

I don't have the skills to re wrap the model, so I am just going to have to work around with different ideas till I get something that wraps ok lol

Gotta rewrite the whole lore to this character later, since hes a bunch of bones from different creatures fused together into one single undead entity.

You dont have to rewite lore. Though if you where going for a character like that, i'd have picked the abomination model.

Playing around again today, coloured it up a bit and tried to add some cracks into some bone bits. I scribbled out the one shoulder and haven't come up with anything for that yet. The whole bone tendril hair thing is HARD omg. Its like I have to make my canvas bigger just to do that part, but I dunno if the skin would still work if I made it bigger xD The lining up the 2 hair parts is next to impossible and alphaing out the lower part makes things look even weirder. I just left the hair in scribble mode cause I am in a jam there.

The hands are still wrapping a tad odd, but I kinda want the skull hand look. The small rib/spine look on the arm is also has the same issue as my hair problem, but it looks ok in the game and in the viewer.

The head I was going for a multiple rows of teeth look and took me a while to get it to look ok lol. Then he has this whole stretched flesh thing going on that looks like a creepy mask lol

Maybe you can add some pouring blood on some parts of the bones to reach the next step for a more colour variation.

And for the arm pad, maybe you can just add a damaged arm pad and add some colour to it (team color would be a plus).

Nice skin for a wip, btw!
