Greetings... first of all, this whole wc3XXXXX network is great, good thing, very good thing :D but now my problem... i try to give a dreadlord the ability to throw flames of fire, by transforming via BuildIn Custom Ability "Bear Form" and getting this way a ranged attack... working when used as a Unit-Ability without using a spellbook... but now i want to put this unit-ability into a spellbook hero-ability, with other fire-based unit-abilities... but when i try to use the transformation-ability out of the spellbook, everything is messing up... the abilities in the spellbook-heroability vanish, transformation not happening or just canceled, only the fireorb effect applied to the alternate unit is spinning around the claw... unable to transform back... when skilling up the spellbook hero-ability the unit-abilities reappear, but after trying to change form again, same problem... i tried also the Robo-Goblin transformation ability, same problem... anyone know what to do??? thanks :) |

I'm tired of asking: include your triggers, maps and kind of stuff. |

Take a look at this. It may hold for you a solution, based on how I configured the hero unit Croven's abilities to work. Croven's Transformation ability is a dummy spell based on Channel. The actual Transformation ability is based on Spellbook, and is added to Croven via triggers which add the ability and set the level of it. Look at the triggers (GUI) and the Object Editor to understand the details of how it works. |

oh, sorry... i have there a testing map (some monsters and stuff), i will upload it :) so, here is it... see the attachment its not really a clean map, so i tell what and where what is and stuff (blah) the important abilities are -Fire Skills (Hero-Ability, spellbook based) -Flame Throwing (var2) (Unit-transformation-ability) the important units are -Dreadlord (standard melee hero) -Flame Throwing Dreadlord (special hero) there are a few triggers, but not concerning this problem... i think i hope someone is seeing my mistake, or that i cant do anything more, cuz of limitation... PRE-EDIT: still checking the Archmages solution ;) POST-EDIT: hmmm, i think i got it... so i use a dummy spell in my spellbook, which will add a ability that turns the unit in whatever it has to be, removing that ability, and my dreadlord throws flames... that might work... the only problem is, that the transformations have no cooldown... and have no duration-bar... hm... but still thanks, i check it out... |

yeah it would lagg when you learn the spell the first time. Solution: you place a unit with all the abilitys on the map and remove it while map init, that should prevent the learn lagg ---Edit--- Why is my post above yours or is my explored messed up? |

well, i put the transformation stuff aside, but i have other questions, so i will use this thread over and over :D when i would use over 50 unit-abilities, divided among 4 heroes via spellbook, and each of them would have a maximum of 30 levels, would this create lag on rpg campaign-like maps??? i mean non-jass/non-trigger abilities for now... |

um????? i dont know????? it even says that i just replied it... strange..... aargh attack of the nerubians..... ya know... bug and stuff :D but thanks, yea, learning was the problem... i could also preload the skills by trigger, but i guess its easier to just put in the heroes... i gonna change the threads topic now, cuz i gonna be off topic, if i have more questions concerning the whole mapping/modding stuff EDIT: hm, that does not work... would some mod please change the title of this thread to the topic of my first post??? thanks :) |

You could just make a new topic for each question. That way, the topic titles could be more descriptive regarding what's in the topic. |
