RPG Styled map based on the Playstation game, Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles. The difference about this map will be that it will revolve more around timing, skills and etc. exactly like the Playstation game. It will be more arcade style (think Devil May Cry). ![]() ![]() Here's why you should help out :) Its original, its new, its just seriously going to kick ass. Just post here, and I'll contact you with full details on the project - you can back out after that if you're not interested. Currently recruiting:
Game Style : Its exactly like any other Warcraft map. There will be tons of enemies to kill and you just have to kill them. Given a couple of skills you can either go for lightsaber mastery or force mastery (think Jedi Knights II). There will be puzzles for you to solve like in SWGPB too. The only reason I mentioned it being arcade-style is the fact that you will be swarmed with enemies and you will need to fight your way through either by killing them or running away - you will have skills like "Force Block" or "Lightsaber Counter" that can help you block off attacks and counter them back to enemies (for example, force block would be a much easier way as you switch it on like a temporary shield that will reflect all projectiles flying towards you while lightsaber counter would require you to actually time the countering of the lasers). A great feature I hope to use to enhance the map would be that simple jump skill which will be called "Force Jump" this will help me apply puzzles to the game and also add a faster pace arcade style effect. I guess its hard for me to explain exactly how I want to make this, but I swear the Warcraft engine can definately handle this - max players is uncertain but most probably only 4. Thats it sofar. Serious offers only, thanks! :) Current Team Members: f4nt0m (me) - GUI Triggering Current Progress: 0%? I just started this. I admit I don't exactly have the reputation to post maybe, but I was hoping that it would help anyway. I'm one of those mappers that has gone halfway through a ton of projects and just stopped thus I do a little bit of everything (scripting, terraining, skinning, modeling, etc.), so yeah its not that impressive. But please join this team because of the idea mainly instead of my resume :P I promise that if the map in my mind is created it will be something no one has ever seen before and something they'll want to play over and over again! Sorry if this post seems vague and if I'm breaking any rules please state so and I will get on it as soon as possible! Thanks for reading this post. |

You're project will almost certainly fail. Why? Because your main idea is based on something, as a GUI triggerer, far beyond your own reach. In fact, I doubt anyone could pull it off well. While your idea is a good one (one many others have basically had before, I might add), the WC3 engine is not designed for it. Once you start fighting the engine that much, it almost always turns out crap. Anyway, that's my warning to you. As a general rule, always either know roughly how to do stuff before deciding to do it, or talking it through with someone who is more able with the area concerning it, if needs be. You also ought to add some more info about the map idea. Not all of us have played all the star wars games. |

Thread renamed as per your request. The old title wasn't particularly appropriate anyway. I join CG in requesting some more information regarding the playing style. All I could gather from your post, not knowing anything about the PS game, is that it will have quests and abilities. |

Thanks for the warning, I think not enough info about the map doesn't help. It's hard to explain exactly whats in my mind =/ But I updated it to add a bit more info. |
