Greeting guys !

I've started terraining with the pack The Ultimate Terraining Map
It's quite interesting, I'm having lot of fun


But I have some troubles...

How may I fix it?

You'll have to set a sky. In the WE there is a standard sky i think, and you'll have to apply one for ingame. You can do this via trigger or at Scenario. So far, your terrain is looking quite good :). I just don't really like Blizzard trees and cliffs, but they don't look that bad in your screens ;)
edit: that portal on the castle gate is a bit out of place imo

Scenario -> Map Preference -> "SkyX"
Is it enough or I made something wrong?
I'll try with trigger

PS : on the World Editor screen, the background isn't complete fog (which is white) we can see the sky (little blue)

With the trigger you can't see the sky in the WE. You should use a sky such as Lordaeron Summer or autumn for that pics :)
Ehm, and what's GEM, if i may ask? ;)

GEM (Gornur Evil Machination xD) is a small project I do to kill time doing something intelligent. A kind of arcade game. It's not really a FPS, but something like House of the Dead / Operation Flashpoint / Time Crisis You do not choose your movements, you just have to kill everything, shoot to make score, bash gnolls, and save the world...

I've done 50% of the triggers templates, the terrain of the tutorial mission... I wait to get something really playable to ask some more help.

Very interesting actually, so the player will move around by itself and then stop when enemies comes around?

You get it, except some passages I think the shooter cross a field, and shoot without stopping running... I have a lot of ideas, but I want to do something playable and simple before complicate...

We may move and rename the thread, no?
Here is an extract of my notes...
Hidden information:
ENEMIES :

Summoners
Footman, when usin' defense can be only shoot from behind
Create multiple sub-creatures at death
Reincarnation (maybe, when human die, they resurrect into skullz)
Hippo' rider (when shot, they archer fall down)
Explode at death (+ light flash, cam shaking)
Invisible (bonus kill, not required)
Scarab / Spider => borrow / unborrow
Shoot => blink
Shoot => Divine shield
Shoot => Like faeries
Shoot => Become slowly invisible (divine walk) / TP had to be fastly killed
Hight regeneration
ambush
Ghosts (can go trough the walls)

I've started by using a lock by picking, shoot with keaboard but, this was sucking... because you don't really need to be skilled... just lock and hit the keyboard... you get it, and you may shoot trough walls if you looked before, I removed that crap

Now I'm using this :
When you push Up (or Esc, It may change, nothing definitive yet...) it enable first shoot mod, if you press Down, it enable second shoot mod (or press again Esc)
You shoot when you pick a unit.

Good Points :
-Need to target a little
-2 or more interactions possible with objects

Bad Points :
-Can't wast ammo because we'll always shoot something
Solution : make shootable corpses when die, a lot of non-killable destructable
-We do not have our hero selected, can't use inventory...
Solution : Make a multitable ...

I do not see how I could make it different, get an idea?

I haven't made the ammo system, but it's not really needed, I'm a GUIer xD
I focused on the camera's work ... there is a unexpected issue when you ask a cam to rotate from a 350° to 10° (you would like it to make the shortest movement : 20°) It make a 340° rotation ... same for angle of attack...
Now it's fixed, and I need a 0.04s periodic trigger to lock the cam.... It was 2 day of work to find a way to lock cam and keep it unmovable for the player...
I think some people may did it before me, but I like to make trigger self ^^

If you wanna see a thing my map look like, check the "My Boomstick" map, a Blizzard contest winner... This inspired me a lot, but I'll do something more complete (or die trying xD)

Just asking, because this has nothing to do with your terrain (which is I like alot BTW).

you're probably french... but francais or Québecois? Just asking, I haven't seen many Québecer map makers so I'm kindof looking around.

I think he means the cliffs, people usually use the heighten tools with the UTM.
