Does anyone know where the user properties are in gmax? Evidently they are not in the same spot as in max. I need to find them so I can use the connect mesh thing so the mesh is connected when I animate. |

You can't find them because the art tools are not compatible with gmax. |

I thought so. |

So I will get fun unattached meshes, eh?:P |

No, you will have to use the skin modifier and some fancy exporting script which I know nothing about. |

What's the skin modifier, and do you know where to find this fancy exporting script? |

You could, like, use Milkshape instead? |

Not quiet sure what your asking. If your looking for the modifier to connect the bones with the meshes then. just make your bones then select your mesh then go to modifier tab (See thumbnail 1) and click on skin modifier. And if your looking to combine meshes to each other when your on the edit mesh modifier scroll down on the tab below that and you find what shows on the thumbnail 2. all you got to do is move the 2 vertices close enough to connect them. And if that dosen't help you any here a tutrial link on how to model in gmax http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/magos.php. the Yobgul's Mdl-Mdx File Converter is a bit ineffecent so ill give you a link to a model viewer one instead when i can find it again. |

Thanks, but the exporter messes up for me and doesn't export the model info so it will never work. I guess I will have to stick with Milkshape or "legally buy" 3dsm 5. |

ow yea about that you have to "Print To Listner" rather then export the script wasn't finish and then click on the Utilities tab(The hammer icon). then go down to MaxScript click on that. then open up the listener now open up notpad. then although it only allows you to highlight so much there a way around that first scroll all the way down on the listener. then why holding alt highlight all the stuff by just scrolling past the window then moving up and down(Without touching the script window itself). then after its all highlight before you do anything why still holding the ALT key click somewhere besides the script window. Now click on the script window(Just the top blue part nothing else) and hit CTRL+C. Now go to your notpad and hit CTRL+V to paist it all delete the "'DeX Version: 0.185m" and the Export part on the bottom. then save it as a mdx although when i find that model editer program you can later save it as a mdl. |

But when I do the print listener thing it never prints the model info for some reason, just like the animations and materials and stuff. |

ow you got to make sure you have it all selected when you do. just select everything including the bones then run the script. and for that model editer i promised you here the link for it http://Magos.TheJeffFiles.com/War3ModelEditor/. there you can just add textures and partical effects rather then doing it manuly like the tuturials tells you how. |

Ahh, you have to have the model selected when you export, thanks. EDIT: The animations are screwed up so I'll just stick to milkshape:P |

mmk well i know how to fix that to but if you just wan't to stick with milkshape then be my guest. But if your still intrested just tell me what exactly your animating |
