Mario & Luigi

Made by: Dan van Ohllus
Icons by: Nintendo (modified by Dan van Ohllus)

Description:
The world's most famous plumbers have come to visit in the Warcraft III Engine and are ready to stomp and shoot any foes in their way.

Model description:

Base models are Mountain King (body) and Villager Child (head). Skin done in freehand, though the trousers are added with filters. A few primitive geosets were added to the head (nose and cap) and I did some reshape on both models so they will look different from each other (e.g. Luigi is taller than Mario).

However, even though I didn't followed the critiques to 100 (I think resizing the hat would make it too big), I'll submit them as they are.

Hint:

I've also made MarioNoFireFlower/LuigiNoFireFlower versions so you can use it when you want your character to grow instead of changing costumes when morphing. And you don't even need the FireFlower costume textures when using these.

Wow, best head fit for Mario and Luigi I've seen in a long time. However, the fists and feet do, indeed, need enlarging. However, if you want to go classic Mario, upsize them about 30% and then make their attack animation size it up to 70%

Hmmm indeed not only do the fists and feet need some resizing, but the texture of the fist seems a bit strange, as if the fingers only show on one side.

They must look great in game though. Sure, from clsoe it looks way too squarish for mario, but from far enough, its convincing.

Feet and fists DO need to get bigger though.

yeah, the hands and feet could use increasing of size, though that is not the main problem.
As it is now, I do not approve this, yet
So here is a short list of things you have to fix to get this approved
- Luigi is longer then Mario, but has the same bones, wich fucks up his shoulders, so some of his bones need a bit re-arangement.
- The .zip contains loads of folders but in only the Mario and Luigi folder are models and skins.
- It looks like there are a lot of bones not being used (on the hands mostly), that would mean unnessecery big files, though I could be wrong

Chriz.
They look fine at in game perspective.

I'll see what I can do to fix the issues. The bones might be more challenging though (since they don't have the correct names).

Rearanging bones is a piece of cake, you can do that in Magos' model editor.

I did the following updates of this resource:

- Resized the hand and feet A BIT. Since these parts have too low polies, they would look very pointy if I resized them more.
- I managed to discover some useless bones to remove so they will lose about 20 kb per model (portrait models don't count).
- The zip file is more polished.

I did try rearranged Luigi's bones, but couldn't see any difference when he animates. Even if Luigi's shape is changed, the anims isn't really bad and it is mostly like Mario's.

Better, but you do have to edit those bones. Otherwize I do not approve this.
I can even tell you wich bones
Luigi's "Bone_Head" should be higher, setting the Z axis to 75 should be enough I think.
And you have to set the Z axis of the "Bone_Arm1_R" and "Bone_Arm1_L" to 65.

When you've done that I'll approve this.

And also check if those ten bones on each hand are really used, cause it doesn't look like it.

They gave me a warning that those bones are used, but I'll probably make a backup when I shall experiment with the bone removal in case if the model would crash.
