We are unhappy to say progress on this project will be delayed unitl after december. Some family issues have just come about and devilinthedark will have little access to computers. The project is not cancelled but we have no confirmed date as to when we will start on it again ................................................ In the week that this sight has been down our group has edited several features in our Zelda project. Most notably the terrain has gone thorugh some major upgrades, and when we have time the backdrop and fog effects will be added. Right now we would like to present some new updates: 1. We have new custom character models. Link has many character models considering he will be changing into different armors throughout the game. Also we have found numerous models for creatures and Boss fights. Characters that will not have custom models are Zelda and Impa (we are satisfied with their current models) 2.Terrain has been heavily upgraded and is still being upgraded with fog effects and backdrops. 3. More Boss Fight info. In the screenshots we are posting we have several boss fights in display. -The first is the Murloc-based creature known as the Wind Gekko. This monster serves as the mini-boss in the first dungeon, and Link must dodge tornados it creates to avoid being sucked in. After the Boss tires itself it will charge at Link, leaving it open to some hack-n-slash. -The second set of pics is the Boss of the first dungeon, the demon Palagard. For this boss fight the demon seems rather invincible as it fires electricity into three generators which in turn hurls lightning bolts at random places around the room. Link must use his Energy Boomerang (a new item) at the three generators as they move across the room, making this battle a cakewalk. Destruction of all 3 generators will cause them to backfire on Palagard and kill him. -The third set of pics is an underwater Boss fight (yes thats right... underwater and it was a HUGE pain to trigger it all). This boss is similar to Gyorg from Majora's mask, and as such it has been aptly named Gyorg-Telarmus. Link will acquire armor that lets him breath underwater and walk on the surface (similar to the iron boots and zora's tunic). Link will have to time it so when the boss charges at him he sidesteps the attack and the boss rams into the wall, damaging itself. Timing is essential... Link moves VERY slowly underater. 4.Playable characters. Though 90% of the game is played as either Zelda or Link, the player will have the opprotunity to control several other characters during important plot events. A list of the current characters you will play as includes but are not limited to: 1. Impa 2. The King of Hyrule 3. Princess Ruto 4. Saria (in a flashback) 5. Ganondorf (in a flashback) If the Ganondorf disturbs you fear not... we promise he is NOT the villian again. 5. We have finally completed several levels with our new RTS concepts. As mentioned in some of our other posts, troops in this game are not "built" or "bought." Depending on the size of the city you're defending (in the case of the screenshots a small city and a tiny outpost) you will be in charge of limited soldiers which you must mix and match different weapons for the current strategic need. So far we only have 3 types of weapons and armor usable, but there will be dozens by the time you get farther in the game. We are also trying to add to realizm by making individual soldiers different from one of the same type, ex: each has different colored shields, different helmets, etc. In the screenshots you will see Zelda defending the desert city of Skorngral as she leads troops against 3 large Ahtnamaz units that control the smaller troops (These large bugs are known as 'Phermonic Commanders'). Also there are some screenshots of another level where Zelda has to defend a small burning outpost as she waits for Link's arrival. In this stage you must use the best tactical positions for your shotgun troops, poor defensive positions can make this simple mission a nightmare. Also we have a screenshot of what may be our new villian, though we think we might change the appearance if it doesnt live up to our expectations. .................................................................................................... .. update 12-7-06 Music We havnt mentioned much abou the music in our project. After numerous testing we feel the music is indeed one of the best parts of the game that helps enhance the current atmosphere of the situation. Here is a list of some of the music we are using and when we commonly use them in our project: Music from Zelda: Ganondorfbattle(Wind waker) - During Boss fight with Ahtnamaz General phantomganonbattle(WindWaker) - During 2nd boss fight ganondorfbattle(ocarinaoftime) - During all mini-boss fights main zelda theme - various dugeontheme (A link to the past) - During the 1st dungeon Music from Final Fantasy: FinalFantasyXbossfight - During 2nd boss fight OneWingedAngel(FF7) - Ahtnamaz Theme Music from Warlord: Unamed - During 2nd dungeon Unamed - During 3rd dungeon Music from B5: NarnTheme - Kingdom of Hyrule's Theme RangerTheme - Zora's Domain Theme CommingofShadows - Played during the invasion of Hyrule ........................................................................................... Soon we will post more pics of different environments throughout the game once we fix it all up. |

Show some screenshots if it's not too much of a problem. Sounds like a nice enough project anyway, RTS elements sounds good too. |

As of now we dont have any custom in game models (we lack a graphics program) But we are open to anyone that may have models we can download for the project. Your name will be included in the credits. We hope this doesnt discorage anyone but for now we are stuck using warcraft 3 models with different textures etc. We are currently using these models for characters: Link - varies (includes footman) Zelda (without armor) - elf civilian Zelda (with armor) - Blood elf archer Impa - Retexture of Night Elf warden (not the hero warden) Saria (before transition) - green retexture of female civilian Saria (after transition) - CLASSIFIED.... The Ahtnamaz - Nerubean models (various retextures) Hyrulean Soldiers - Swordsman and captain models with minor retextures Zora units - various Naga retextures And the deku tree is not in it.... but we will let out a spoiler that the Kokiri forest gets burned down |

It sounds interesting. Do you have a more in-depth storyline that you wouldn't mind posting (it doesn't need to contain spoilers or important plot details, just some more background information). |

We will release more details on story, plot, gameplay mechanics, and boss fight info before this weekend |

After everyone's request we have finally release some screenshots of our mod. We're are sorry to say some of them are a bit blurry, but we will release better pictures in the future. NOTE: if the screenshots dont show then e-mail the link at the bottom and we will e-mail the pic's back to you. Story Details: Here is a general synopsis of the starting story. The game opens up with Impa running through Hyrule castle in search of Zelda, warning her to get her armor and weapons ready because Hyrule is about to be attacked. It turns out the aggressors are a race of ant-like creatures known as the Ahtnamaz who have remained relitively peaceful with the Kingdom of Hyrule. Since the city lacks sufficient soldiers, Zelda and Impa are rushed to help the defenders, but must flee quickly as the city is overrun by hundreds of the insect oppressors. After succesfully following Impa out of the chaos, Zelda and Impa's luck runs out... the stable housing emergency horses is burned to the ground: an ambush was set up by the Ahtnamaz. Ordering Zelda to flee, Impa faces off the General of the Ahtnamaz Invasion, and if the player is successful... she kills it, causing the Ahtnamaz in the area to go into berzerk. Later on Link is training with Mido in the Kokiri forest when he decides to go visit Saria. In the middle of a personal conversation between her and Link, an Ahtnamaz General confronts them, soon to be followed by Zelda and a few Hyrulian Soldiers. Link, Zelda and the soldiers must hold the following Ahtnamaz forces off. After completion, Zelda soon comes up with the theory that the Ahtnamaz are after a demon known as Palagard inside the Kokiri forest, since reports say that their armies are charging away form Hyrule and into the forest. Link, Zelda, and Saria then go forth in search of this demon to learn what exactly the Ahtnamaz are after... Boss Fight Details: In many warcraft 3 maps, boss characters are simply very powerful units that require your hero to hack at until their HP drops to zero. In this game, bosses follow completely triggered attack patterns like those in actual zelda games. For example the game's first boss, the Ahtnamaz General, will teleport into the distance away from the player, soon to howl as a series of energy blasts quickly comes forth in random directions. The player must then dodge the attacks to avoid damage, and wait for the Boss the come closer so that the player can strike. Many other bosses will follow a similar patterns where they have a series of triggered attacks you must dodge and a particular momment where the player must strike to deal damage. Real Time Strategy Details: Though you wont play in this mode until about an hour into the game, the RTS elements are going to vary slighty from traditional warcraft 3. Instead of "training" soldiers with gold, the player must construct houses (in many levels houses are already constructed) which will spawn civilians. The player will then use an ability (very similar to the call to arms) to arm your civilians with different weapons. At first you will only be able to arm them with Swordsman armor, but later in the game you will be able to specilize the troops with various weapons from bows, rifles, etc. We are currently looking for anyone who can create an in-game model for Saria (her OoT appearance). Your name will be mentioned in the credits with much gratitude. If you wish to contact us or suggest ideas, please reply to: [email protected] |

Hm..I was reading about this project in the other thread, was looking forward to screens, but I think you need to work on terrain a lot, as well as the possibility of custom models for Zelda/Impa/Link/etc. Normal Wc3 units gets...repetitive after a few hundred maps :-P Still, so far it's looking interesting, but I'm curious as to why they turned out so blurry? If you lowered the quality of the pictures, kinda don't see why, could've had them be a higher res....okay, cut that, I'm just now noticing this..but..did you actually take PICTURES of the game with a camera!? You could've just hut "Prnt Screen" and located the pictures in your Warcraft III / Screenshots folder and just opened in a photo program (like irfanview, which is free) and converted to JPG. Anyway! I personally would like to see something done with Hyrule Castle, as it looks from the screenshots, it doesn't really appear to be 'castle-ish' or look 'too' nice (I'm anti-cliff...sue me :P), might want to have custom models or custom skins used for the castle walls. Looking forward for more screens and info. |

I've always wanted bossfights to be like that :) Great job on those! I think the screenshots show great promis, but as player says, they also have room for improvement. To be honest though, I didn't think this was a realistic project when I read the very first post, but now I see that it might have a bright future after all, hehe. Edit: Btw, try gather the important part of the info and pics you've posted so far an make it into one good looking and informing post at the top post. |

Good progress. But really, please do an effort to pick out the most relevant and goodlooking pics. I get very little from looking at pics like these: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/attachme...1&d=1165379591 And please tell me if there's any perticular reason why you are not doing this: Quote:

He keeps making new threads. Obviously the fact I merged them last time didn't give him a message. I've neg repped him now (third offence). If he does it again, I'll start deleting. |
