Hey, A loooong time ago i was very active on this site. I really liked to make mods, textures, models. My account name was bamibal (maybe someone here still know me ) And now I've made a new account. I really like w3 2 year ago and now i start playing again. I have some ideas for a new mod I'm going to make. But i really need to know if i could import models, textures or sounds for the ORIGINAL w3 wiothout expension. Because there are still many poeple that don't have TFT I really hope someone could answer this question because a few years ago i only made mods for w3 with expension. |

This message probably wont help you like you want, but really, I'm sure you have 15$ on you somewhere, go buy the expansion, evrything is so much better and easier. I think its impossible... I don,t know. |

If it is possible (I don't know), you probably have to use an MPQ archiver or whatever they're called. |

As great as it is that you want to help the other WC3 community, making good maps that haven't already been done is near impossible with the WC3 RoC engine and WE. You would be far better off getting TFT. I don't think its possible either without a strenuous amount of work. |

Who the fuck plays roc? No one besides ladder. |

Its quite possible using an MPQ editor. However if you do have TFT and are doing it simply from some wicked popularity reason then its simply not worth it. Well anyway you should find this tutorial useful. |

i already have TFT 2 years ago i bought the battle chest with w3 and tft.But some friend of mine did not and i'm now playing roc with him for a week or something and i still see there are still many people playing roc. So i was thinking maybe make a nice mod for them. ![]() It would be nice if i could make a mod that is compatible for both roc and tft so more people can play it. What do you guys thing about it? Would it be a great idea so the mod reached a lot more people. Or do you guys think it will be impossible or not even worth it what SFilip said. |

It's not only about imports. If you use just one element (tile, unit, sound, model, etc) from the expansion, it won't run on roc. |

If I would make a mod like that i would only install ROC so i won't have that problem then ![]() |

It shouldn't be too difficult to convert a TFT map into RoC. The so called "new" features to the trigger editor are pointless since the jass syntax didn't change between the two versions (not sure about natives). Object Data can be widgetized so the buff/ability/etc editing can go through to RoC (not sure about about fields..). The TFT models, textures, etc, which are used can be imported into the map. |
