Editting/Creating Models in Notepad

Could somebody who is extremely knowledgeable in the area write a tutorial on creating and editing models via Notepad. I'm sure that tons of people would benefit through this because 3DSMax is a bit more than pocket change to buy.

I'm sure there are already tons of tutorials about this.

Sorry this was an awful description of what I meant. I mean unless somebody tells you to use 3DSMax to make shape X, and add particle emitter Y, perhaps a tutorial in how all of these things are brought together via a simple .txt file.

Instead of simply understanding how to copy a particle emitter from an existing model to a new model, by opening up the original model and finding the said text, actually creating from scratch a particle emitter that can be stand alone.

Edit: Sorry this is just not my field whatsoever, but particle emitters (primarily) make the game look THAT much better, without even stressing too much out of your GPU. At this point even a good tutorial on making particle emitters in 3DSMax would make my day.

Lol I've looked everywhere for this, and I saw nothing in the tut. section. How?!!? Anyways, thanks for the link much appreciated. I may keep in touch with you if I have any further questions about particle emitters if thats okay.

Edit: Art Tools doesn't work for the version of 3DSM that I have ( 9.0, I believe) so therefore BlizPart doesn't work. I will try that other editor that you mentioned.

Edit: I have found a free download for 7.0, but it will probably just be a trial version -hopefully not, but life ain't fair- so I'll try it with that, and then give the results of my experience.

Edit: As I suspected, doesn't work.

Edit: Wow, this sucks, not only can I not use Art Tools with anything above 5.0 (not sure if 6.0 works) but 5.0 is discontinued and there are absolutely no downloads for it. Talk about it being impossible for newcomers to start modeling.

(If it means anything, I will give +rep to whomever can help me start modeling particle emitters w/o copying existing ones =Z )

art tools don't work with 6 either; strictly 4.2 and 5 & 5.1
