PowerMPQ - How to Install?

I am in desperate need of help.

I can't seem to find instructions on how to install PowerMPQ. Follwing this thread, I could download PowerMPQ version 1.04 and (seemingly) install VB6.

After downloading the .zip file, and extracting it, I get 5 files:

A directory called Languages, an icon (?) called MPQfile, a file called PowerMPQ, a file called MpqLib.dll and a ReadMe text file (which, surprisingly, does not contain info on how to actually make it work).

Whenever I double-click the PowerMPQ file (which I had supposed would simply open the program), I get that "wrong" windows sound and curse the heavens in vain.

Can someone please help me with this issue? What exactly is required for me to install PowerMPQ? How can I open it? That's all I actually want, using it must be pretty simple.

I was facing the same problem when trying to install PowerMPQ 1.03 by extracting the .zip file, but it seems I could install it, with a minor problem, by downloading the .exe file directly.

In any case, I still can't use the 1.04 version.


If it serves any purpose, the error I had during 1.03's installation was:

"Error opening file for writing:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\olepro32.dll
CLick Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
Ignore to skip this file."

Upon Retry's failure, I chose to Ignore it and "completed" the installation.


It seems to be working fine, but I can't open files that are too heavy. Help, anyone?





EDIT: Ehrm, after managing to install 1.03 through the described method, it seems 1.04 worked. o.õ
