I'm working on a new model pack, when it's finished this pack will include a range of different types of ships of the 16th to 18th century and a lot of ship doodads. And here is the first preview of one of those doodads. the steering wheel. as I finish more of the model I want in the pack I will continue to update this thread, so keep checking back. The models will be animated by Illidan(evil)x Update December 20 2006: Added capstan preview (the thing that lifts the anchor) second update: added hatch Update December 21 2006: Added rowboat and barrel I made that barrel because I think the ingame one sucks, so I made a new one with a higher detailed texture (ingame texture). Update December 31 2006: Added cannonballs pile, anchor and rope pile added more detail on the barrel Update Januari 1 2007: Added ingame preview of the rowboat I had to add a double inside so the water didn't get in the boat. Illidan(evil)x has now also animated the first few doodads, the rowboat bobs a bit and the steering wheel turns a bit as if no one is holding it. Update Januari 4 2007: Added cannon preview. Update March 18 2007: Added flags preview. |

Neato, this will help a lot when people make all those ship maps and campaigns they do nowadays. What kinds of models would we be talking about? Just a few examples. |

And as for the units, I will make complete ships, I don't knwo how many I'll make yet, but I think at least four. And of course any suggestions for ships or doodads will be very appriciated. |

You should make some nice tilesets too to go with the theme. |

no, he should rather learn how to model high poly with a real tool for next gen games instead of fooling around with low poly doodads. |

will the combination of model and doodads will be put together so one has a good looking walkable ship? like that the base model consists out of the lower part of the ship and the rest is set on top of it... |

Maybe? |

Sounds/looks promising I'd like to see the ships though... You should make some Musketeer unit models !!! |

However, if I feel like it, then I'll make more doodads so it's possible to make a complete walkable ship out of doodads alone. Quote:

However, that wasn't a request, that was a suggestion ![]() Wasn't Musketeer's (not talking about "the 3 musketeers") around in the 16th to 18th century :? |

mmm I had idea like this before well aleast just the walkable ship part. Ill gladly make you one for the set so you don't have to just PM what it will need and not need (IE Cannons on the side a sail) stuff like that. |
