Now I have something to say. I am not a particularly skilled mapmaker. In fact, I don't really know how to create triggers in GUI or JASS. But I have in my possession an unprotected RP map based on the old DoBRP series, and I don't know what to do with it. Right now, I could simply just redo the terrain and release it as my own work, but I feel that several improvements could be added to it and I don't feel like making a mere terrain copy (ahem, ERP). So I have come to an idea. I'll give it to people whom I think have good ideas on how to change the map and who have sufficient skill to carry this through. Everyone who wants this map, post down here, and list your answers to 2 questions: What do you think are the most important qualities to a good map? What would you change to this map? There are still plenty of Wc3 RPers, but not enough different terrain for maps, not enough different variations on RPing, etc. |

Wouldn't this be somewhere in the Projects section? Also, why would you want to just copy the triggers/change terrain? The commands would be the same, and it's hard (sometimes) to just "copy" a map and make decent-smart people think it's yours. |

The first thing you do for us is giving us the copy of the original map. If you don't want to take as you own work, then just give credits to the original maker of the map and say that you altered it. |

Usually if you give credit to someone people instantly respect you as a mapmaker, even if you're not a good one. |

You know what? I guess you're right. I'll simply change the terrain, give credit to the original makers, and then I'll build from there. |

Is that unprotected or deprotected? Doesn't make much difference to my advice though - start from scratch. That map had serious flaws in it. Also, a terrain change isn't going to make it popular, good or your own work. |

It is actually unprotected. There are no signs of any sort of protection in it. Plus those ERP fools are too stupid to even terrain properly. In any case, I can't do triggers for beans, and I do not want to claim it as my own work. I simply want something else to do besides watch people host aesthetically flawed maps. I don't care if my name will not appear on the map, I just want to get some experience, and to have another map to work with. |

You can send it to me, doesn't matter much to me. What makes a map good is both the great terrain, and if it has not many flaws it is good. I'm a fair map maker so I guess.. |

I would love to have a DoBRP map. I messaged the guy w/ the map, but I think he doesnt get on much. Does anyone actually have it anymore? I will do any thing for this! |
