And then i got a new Issue hope im not spamming the forum. Im fooling around with particles in 3dsmax (arttool) for a wc3 model. I tried to rotate the particle object in 3dsmax but it dosn't change the direction of the particles in the game preview, is it possible to change? I have tried the different settings but none seems to work. |

This is about Max, and should therefore be in the Modelling and Animation forum. |

When you rotate the object, all particles rotate. You cannot manually rotate particles themselves but you can rotate the whole emmiter object. However, you can apply gravity to the particles and so, you may be able to modify them based on the gravity modifiers. You should try that (link the modifier and the particles in warp space). ~Daelin |

You can just add a rotation key at the beginning and end of the animations in which you want it rotated. |

Daelin: Hmm, it seams that the gravity effects it, but only up and down, i want the particles to go to one side. I shows that the particles is "flying" to a side, but in the wc3 preview it just shows that it's flying up or down. Guesst: I don't need it to be rotating in a animation, only that i goes sideway and not only up and down. I found a solution but it's not quickt right, I made the size of the emitter 10x50 so it would be kind of strechted, in game it looks like the particles are move sideway. Maybe I should have mentioned that i wanted it to go sideway. |

Just make it rotated sideways, using animation keys, at the beginning and end of the animation. It will just face that way during that time if you do that, which is what you want. |

Oh, thx it worked :) a much better solution. |

just link the particle emmitter to a bone and rotate the bone, without anim at all... will rotate the emmitter aswell! |
