I want to use the scout tower unit model as a doodad, but when I place it it keeps switching between its alternative forms - cannon tower, guard tower and arcane tower. How do I make it a doodad and scout tower only? |

Go to the Doodad section, then create new doodad, create then change the model proprerties. -Av3n |

Maybe you didn't understand the question - when the model is set to that of a building with different upgrade animations, it switched between them occasionally. How do I make it so that only the scout tower animation will be used? |

Theres an area in the object editor entry for typing animation flags. Copy the ones from the Human Scout Tower. |

If its in the editor only, then I don't think you'll have a problem. |

IF doodads lack that field, i suggest you just use units with the Locust ability (Aloc). Check Pitzer-Mike's ability guide if you are unfamiliar with Locust |

mmk anyways give me 10 min ill figure it out then edit this post. Edit: The Structure has a animation glitch one of the blizzard guys forgot to put a keyframe down or something. so you got 2 options 1. wait for awhile and ill get you a watch tower to use with no extra varations. 2. make it as a unit make it none-selectable set the pathing texture to small set the building terrain requirments to nothing so you can put it anywhere. set the attacks to nothing. and everything else that you think you won't need. for some proof for those none believers the animation is glitched. You can put the Town hall that has the same upgrade style animation tags as the guard tower only it won't switch. |

I knew all of that already, that was why I asked for a way to make a doodad scout tower. I need it for a cinematic, and in the terrain there will be many of these towers, which means: -Lag for slower pcs -I'd have to create many different sized units and heights. Meh, I guess I'll just go find a few good tower and wall models. |

Well hell could of told me it was for a cinmatic it shoulden't matter then if its a unit or not just switch it so the team color is alwase black no matter what team it is. |

I believe this is a World Editor issue only. Try it ingame and see if the animations switch there. |

Nope, they also switch in-game, so it's still stands that it's a general graphic glitch. Also, I wonder why a structure is being made into a doodad anyway when it can just be placed as a unit, like Xlight said. |

I will need many different sizes. And heights. And I'm not quite in the mood for spending half an hour just making and changing unit properties. |
