Ooh, nice stuff! Only thing I can think of is the left hand (her left side) looks a bit wierd, but that's still quite hard to do, so whatever. Also, the bow's design isn't really the most interesting I've seen. Curve it a bit more, or make it longer, I'd say. Good job anyway.. |

Her left arm is exactly what I want crit for. The bow is just there so I can visualize the whole thing better I'll make it prettier when I know how to draw her arm. |

Get some references. The main problem with it is that the pose is unnatural. Point one is that she would probubly not be holding her bow horizontally. Vertically is a lot better and more practical, especially for healthy humanoids with a straight posture like elves. Something nunched like a troll would prefer a horizontal pose. The second thing thats strikes me is that the shoulders should form a straight line with her upper-arms, to strengthen her pose. Its hard to flex a bow if you are not puttibng your joints in the most stabile position you can. I am not going to comment on the lower body, as that seems reather stuck on at the moment and far from even finished as a scetch. I added a picture of the part that i think is verry good. I dont have a tablet here right now, so thats all i can do. But this part is really, really nice. It kind of illustrates that the main problem is perspective/allignment, the bow side just doesnt vibe right with the other side. I tried googling archer for a good ref, but most of its crap. Bottom line for a good arahcer pose, like i said, is that the joints are in-line to give the strength to be able to flex the bow. The arm holding the bow is fully stretched, and that line contunues all the way to the elbow of the other arm. The elbow is bent to hold the arrow. Try this pose, you'll see that it feels good. It might not feel most natural, but it feels strong. (They made us do archery in High School) |

It really depends upon how long one's arms are. In most cases, you cannot pullback as far as you'd need to with a horizontal pose -- But if you're arms are long enough, there's nothing "uncomfortable" about it and it would work just as well as vertical. Your other C&C is perfectly valid though. I really cannot add more. |

I disagree (with erwt), holding your bow horizontally is valid. (which means I agree with dusk) |

Please precise!!!!!! And for erwt's critic and all other related to it. I have an idea on fixing it I'll get to it after boxing day shopping. |

Her right boob looks like its more in the center of her chest then actually on the right, and the left just looks like its chillin there. Her stomach also needs to go in a bit from the ending of her ribcage, shes too straight. Note I drew this at work, with a mouse, really fast. Red is errors, blue is the correct line... or what i can see, sorry for the shitty outline. |

Tiki, I don't see how the red lines could be wrong, they could certainly work with a certain perspective. Erwt, I agree with what you said about the pose, but note how at the moment, she isn't actualy readying her bow to fire, she's still reaching for an arrow. You could say that in the meantime, she's momentarily resting her bow arm by not holding it in the full upper position. For the position I described, I would expect the bow holding hand to be lowered more, so you wouldn't only see the fingers but also the top of the hand. Also, for a Warcraft III elf, she's wearing too much clothes. :) |

Not all the red is wrong, the red is more like how his outline is (minus boobs), and then the text i wrote is wrong. |
