Guest | this thing pauses quite a few times.... anyone know why? i remember when staredit was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FAST does it pause when u change a unit stat? |

Yeah it does for me too. No real away around it beyond applying general tweaks to your computer (check out tweak3d.net) or upgrading your machine. |

Guest | 1 ghz duron and 512 megs of ddr ram with gforce 2 mx 400 64 meg isn't good enough for this baby? OH dear god! such a performance hog and the damn sound bug is PISSING me off too |

Sound bug? Yeah, I have an AthlonXP 1600+ with 256MB PC2100 DDR and I still get that pause ;) I think it's mostly a RAM thing. It's memory hungry. |

Guest | it's not performance the coding of the WOrldeditor can use some tweaking sound bug is when u import sounds and stuff and when u do something i dunno suddenly the sounds become 0 seconds and u have to delete them and reapply them to all triggers agian.. pain in the @SS |

You can't know that it's a coding problem without looking at the code. Whatever WE does to store changed unit stats might very well be extremely cpu and memory intensive. And most of the problems that have to do with things WE can't do aren't caused by WE itself but the way in which war3 loads files like miscdata.txt, or treating two units as one model (druid of the claw). |

Maybe the we opens the mpq with all the files copies the stats of the unit that u changed inserts it in ur map and then changes the stats of the unit? |
