war3mappreview is what you see when you choose the map from the list. I'm 100% sure of that.

war3mapmap is what you should try to override the ingame minimap.

And I don,t think paths are case sensitive.

war3mapMap is what you should try. (i think)

war3mapPreview is the preview to the map, you see this when selecting maps and in the chat room.

war3mapMap is the minimap you see during the game.

Your dimensions are wrong...
it should be 256x256 tga file named war3mapPreview

As much as i know you can use 128*128 and 256*256 when it's a preview.
Only when it's ingame minimap it have to be 256*256.

All I can say is that when I made a minimap preview for one of my maps, it was a 128x128 tga file named war3mapPreview.tga and it worked fine. Also, you might want to make sure your minimap file isn't compressed or corrupt, because I think the cause of the crash is in the picture.

Some tga "compressions" have had problems in the past. Make sure you use 32-bit (never had a problem yet with it) while saving.

Like Photoshop 7.0 Compression that make instantly Warcraft 3 giving an error if it hasn't been again saved but this time with Paint (the old Windows Painting Tool).

While ramsfan1219 should obtain the program, you must not advocate the piracy of copyrighted materials. It is against forum policy, comrade.
