I really didn't see this anywhere, or at least an unlocked thread like this... If you have any suggestions to make the site better, then post them here. I can't guarantee that admins will even think about adding these, but at least we can all say what we think should improve here. 1) instead of two approvals and one admin approval for maps, maybe it should just be two approvals OR an admin approval? It'd make maps "faster" to approve, and honestly, would give a much better chance for any map to be approved. Even if you want top-notch, you're still expecting a lot. 2) or maybe a hall of fame for those really top-notch maps, and another section for other really good maps. So even those good-maps-but-not-perfect-maps would get in. Of course, you'll still be asking for quality, but not perfectness. 3) a few more contests like: ----map contest(s) ----modelling contest(s) (yes I know there was one, but it would be fun to have it back) ----more specialized mapping contest(s) like make a small campaign contest or best TD contest, etc... ----special effects contest -(any others) 4) new themes! I would love a draenei theme, or a goblin theme! This is all I have for now. Might think of more later, and if you have anything you feel you should add to the list, don't hesitate. |

maybe, for map approval, it needs 4 votes, but has a certain scale. Admin = 2 votes Reviwer = 1 vote 5 normal users w/ good reason as to why = 1 vote That way, normal users have a relative say in the position of a map. Many times, people find the map to be good enough, but the mods kill it. |

The approval system has ALREADY lowered its standards in order to allow more maps to be approved. I'm sorry, but without an admin's personal approval AND the approval of two Moderators/Reviewers then the map will NOT be allowed into our database. As far as your 'Hall of Fame' goes, the Map Database itself IS a Hall-of-Fame. If you make it on the Wc3c Database, you have to be incredibly skillful. If you want to make suggestions avoid the approval process of Maps and Resources, they will not change. |

I believe it's in the best interests of everyone here that my status be upgraded to respected user. Only because I'm soo sexy and can spam all witty like. There's no telling what the off-topic forum would be like without me. <3 |

there won't be another modeling challenge, you people are not serious enough. If it starts again, after 1 or 2 sessions there won't be anyone participating anyway. |

Main problem is a lack of active testers, but it looks like that is improving with Chuckle returning and SeasonsOfLove coming in, and a few others helping. I tend to be on the harsher end of the spectrum (and have different tastes to most people), and as others do more reviews it will change. It was always supposed to be a spread of reviewers I think. If you want a sea of moderate quality stuff, there are several sites for that. Wc3search's database (which is atm on route to the Hive), and others. We aren't looking for perfection, but we are looking for high quality and origional maps. They need somewhere to be shown off on their own - and they can do it here. Quote:
Do you know how long it takes to make a good map? Or a good campaign? A long time, depending on how much custom stuff you have. Very few people would take part. Quote:
How about you talk to the admins about making one, rather than just throwing out suggestions without a proper solution? |

The map submission system is fine as it is, the only thing it needs is more active reviewers like Griffen said. Perhaps the reviewers should also not just approve maps out of their own taste but take a look at the quality of the map aswell even though it lies within a genre they tend to dislike, but that's just my oppinion. |

Problem is, we have to evaluate if it is fun as well. If it is boring, then we aren't going to accept it. What is boring and what is fun differs from person to person - I dislike pure micro, finding it utterly boring, while others dislike pure macro, finding that utterly boring. |

What? Not all of the respected users are former staff! |
