I'm doing my first skin, and I just opened one of Blizzard's. I tinkered with it (or rather, I tinkered with the parts not masked). And when I saved and tried it, I got 2 strange results: 1. Some of the unit's face is transparent (the top and under chin). It's like it's just a mask worn by the invisible man. What's causing this transparency? 2. When being zoomed out, some of the skin disappears. It's like a memory conserving thing but it looks a little weird because the glow is still there. Thanks a lot. |

Hmmm I tried cut and pasting the face I made to another skin (some custom skin I downloaded, also of Shandris), and the same thing happens. Here's a screencap of it: http://img400.imageshack.us/img400/8...eenshotyc5.jpg I think there may be something wrong with how I save the file. |

then how do you save the file? btw, that's pretty odd, I've never seen that problem before. |

I used Photoshop CS2 to edit the TGA, then converted it back to BLP using the BLPaletter. In Photoshop nothing appears wrong, and the whole export-importing thing is also fine. But in WE and in game I get this ghosty thing hahaha... Well I'll just try saving it with a different setting then. Thanks for trying to help :D |

You try playing with the alpha channels? You may have to download the alpha channel add-on if you dont have it already |

I wasn't doing anything with the alpha channel. I was just trying to redo the skin a little (as it is my first attempt at skinning). And I don't think it's a problem with alpha anyway, because if I zoom in, the transparency is gone LOL. I'm going to edit it as a JPEG or BMP next. I'll post the results here. |

I would try using Wc3Viewer instead of BLPallater. That is awfully odd to have happened from something you did. The disappearing when you zoom out would mean that it is not generating the scaled down versions of the image correctly. |

Wow I abandoned this thread didn't I? Hahaha sorry, I got a bit busy with work. Anyway, though. THANK YOU! It was a problem with BLPaletter after all. WC3Viewer fixed it. +Rep :) |
