RANDOM REASONS Do note that I was sick and tired of creating a huge campaign all by myself without being able to release it to public even after doing so much work just because it wasn't finished (and most modders know that people can REALLY bitch about unfinished mods). So RR is a one map compilation of a whole Wc3 TC (or campaign) and intends to have what you won't even find in majority of full fledged campaigns out there (hopefully). Random Reasons (RR) is based on my own theory of 'fictional realism'. In the frozen fictional world of RR you will fight for survival by taking the most 'logical' and 'realistic' steps. In RR you will learn to survive out in the cold, you will learn to use heat to your advantage, you will learn to make friends and then betray them (if you want) and you will also learn that your actions WILL have consequences that you must face. RR is also inspired by random cliches you find in other mods or games out there. This RPG doesn't take itself seriously because I am bored to death with all the 'save our world' and 'destroy their world' storylines in other.. places. Not only cliches but almost every time you restart the map you will find random changes like different enemies, different quests, different results to same quests, etc. Instead of working on this map for ages I intend to release it every now and then with added content to the public until the end of the story. You comments on story and ideas on characters (or everything) will make their way into the game in every update one way or another. In this RPG, what you get is what you should (WYGIWYS). Here's a short list:
There's a lot of stuff I intend to add in the updates if I get good feedback from the community. *NEW Screenshots For those who have already played the demo, some of the (many) changes in the next version include..

BTW, I forgot to mention that on the way, you pick up items (weapons, armors, potions.. etc.) and learn to safeguard your stuff from a mysterious thief by using different safe's. You'll know what I am talking about when you play the game. |

Nice idea. Seems pretty fun and friendly, and probably funny too. Though, some questions: -Is there a specific storyline, or is it just all about crazy survival? a) If there is a specific storyline, will your actions influence it? I like the idea of everything changing, even if you choose the same choices. Nice! It will have a very high replay value, most likely, especially when you have a friend over and have them watch you play the wierdest game ever. |

To be honest, dialogues or story are just 'trying' to be funny. Basically the plotline is just an excuse and doesn't really matter. What matters is that every quest gives the player some challenge. It can be anything, trying to find the 'best' way to solve the quest only to find the same way changed into the 'hard way' when replaying the game.. stuff like that. So yeah, it's all about gameplay here. Also, yes, your actions to the characters in-game will change the story and quests in the future. Hell, you can kill the quest giver and still complete the quest (not possible in the demo though). This sandbox theme isn't new for me in Wc3. I have done it already in 'every map' of my campaign (Underworld), and now I am trying it in a more realistic and bigger setting (my standalone game, not this mod :P). This mod 'tries' to bring out the fictional realism mostly present in older RPG's like Baldur's Gate 2. There's no one way to finish or screw up the quest, and the world is never the same nevermind where you saved. Anyways, if you people enjoy this, I WILL finish RR, it's only a map after all.. BTW: 'Fictional Realism' isn't just limited to characters dieing of cold or world that keeps changing. It can be found in simple things such as landmines in the dungeon (right to the camp when the game starts). The damage those mines do and the sounds they make and how the world reacts.. making that realistic is really fun (for me at least). Little details matter, just like details in the level design. Unfortunately these 'details' are lost on majority of Wc3 crowd who find Dota more fun and 'professional' than whole ROC campaign. |

this was fun, but could be improved, i really like the way you set it up, with the units being all big and stuff, creates a good close up look, never thought of that before, its cool, but it gets cluttered and the sheep and frog get in the way when you get to a dead end. i killed all the cat bots and nothing happened, then i got killed by "the ogre" =o |

^ Sheep and the frog are supposed to be 'the' most useless sidekicks ever.. so yeah, you will get annoyed by them running around you, dying and attracting creeps to your position (sheep mostly). As for the CatBots and TheOgre quest, yeah, I am working on that right now. I will be updating the beta with (hopefully) smaller 'optimised' version with many gameplay additions (hopefully 2). |

Kinda fun but it's not enought motivating or enjoyable to make me want finish the map.You really need a better gameplay and the path is to tight. |

That can be due to the fact that there's no gameplay at the moment :P I agree with the path part though. I will add some extra space for navigating esp. during combat because at the moment, one unit has to go around other most of the times to get a hit... that's just annoying. Also, I downloaded this demo myself and realised that instead of v0.3b that I updated for beta testers, the demo is for v0.2b (many gameplay features and fixes aren't there). I will upload the new version soon (trying to reduce the size further), kinda busy with other work at the moment. |

I have updated the first post with latest info on this project. Also, can someone update this thread title and make it similar to the title of the first post? Thanks. I will post the new version of RR soon along with some more info on the towns and dungeons available to you. |
