A selection of animations from a little something I've been pumping at recently.

No prizes for guessing the inspiration.

My favorite is the first one, looks most fluent.

And after you say Grievous was too difficult, you pop up with this?

He seems pretty tall, I'd hunch him over more so he can get greater use of his arms. I'd also make those prongs that he has for feet a bit smaller and more stable, but that has nothing to do with the anims.
I'd say it uses those "swords" a bit weird, as in, it should have more coordination with it's remaining arms so they do more then simply reflexively move a bit when one of the is swung (think martial arts; the whole body is doing something useful).

Weeeeell, he was too difficult... Bearing in mind recent advances in technology, I thought I'd stab my own way through. I think I'm doing all right so far, but I still couldn't do a model like Olof's Grievous justice.

And as we can see from Mezzer's comments, I still have some way to go. You see, I'm kind of doing this out of nowhere; no references, no nothing, and since I can't pose with four arms to try it out for myself, things do seem to go a little awry.

He's also tall in his normal, relaxed mode; with the arms all out or his attach/ready animations, he hunches up a little.

you usually twist from the waist up in the same direction as the foot you step backwards with. Try twisting like the animation you made and see how uncomfortable it feels, even for a robot.

His joints are all on independent pivots... Yeah, okay, I'll see how it feels on the next few. :P

I can't help but point out that his anatomy is an eyesore. Not even a robot would have that much of a lack of torso, especially for something with four arms. Take the alien from Alien for example (seems similar in build), it has a large torso with a bulky chest and it's still very sleek and elegant. I'd also reduce his neck in length. When you fix up the model a bit, the anims may start to look more natural.

I was SURE that was a robot...guess im wrong but the pelvis and chest confused me the most.

PS: You make good models i hope this gets released someday.

Yep, the model needs A LOT of work really! I mean, it looks like it was made from primitives unmodified... lawl...

He is designed to be very low-poly, and at this stage, I am satisfied with his anatomy.

Its pretty good and sexy.
this entire response would be positive on how sexy the model and its animations are if it was not for him stepping backwards during his attacks.

The two armed version is beyond awesome. It almost made me have to change my panties.
The walking animation is pretty nice.
The attacking animations need some work.
But he is still very very sexy.

And its a robot, since when do robots require a torso, i could make one with an arm on its head and it could work correctly.

Anywho i love this sexy monster of a robot it almost makes me want to have virtual sex with my computer when i look at it.

Your alien reminds me of these other aliens from a computer game called FreeSpace crossed with Grieveous. I don't know how to spell his name.
