Can't you just sit in front of the editor and at least try to actualy make one of them? You can't expect people to just "give you the triggers". You could have at least tried to explain what exactly is a tech wars style map? |

I can't believe you actually wrote that. Anyone is entitled to ask help at this site, and people of one nationality are no better than those of another. |

Lol that was a little joke, and yes i did look for it (might have been the wrong place, but it was this forum (scirpts and triggers)) And i tried some, but they turned out to be garbage, im not asking for the trigger, im asking if anyone knows it. sorry for the confusion.....you really cant be sarcasm on the comp And of ya, tech wars build a barracks, every 30 seconds a rifleman will spawn there, run to the enemy, and attack its Hq along with any units in the way. |

All GUI takes to use is common sense. You need to think of three things when making the spawn trigger. When do I want the trigger to go off? Do I need to make sure of any conditions before running actions? What will the trigger do? After that, you just find the right events/conditions/actions and you should be all set. |

Well Thank you, although its not the trigger, some common guidelines for a clueles map maker make the whole difference in the world. :) |

Alrite, this makes sense to me, but it wont work, so im looking for input on wat to do, please i beg of you. Event Time - Unitspawner Expires Conditions Unit Type of Triggering Unit equal to Barracks {elven} Action Unit - Create 3 Frost Elves for Owner of Triggering Unit at position of Triggering Unit *sigh* i cant wait till triggering gets easier with a program that listens to what we say, then puts in into Trigger language. |

What triggering unit? There is no triggering unit in that trigger because no unit could have triggered that event, only a timer could have. Basically, you can't use triggering unit in that trigger. Also, don't double post, some mod will probably tell you. |

Well i cant make the triggering units a specific unit, well because, tehre will be multiple units of that unit type of the playing feild. |

If one way doesn't work, try another. You wanted the effect to happen every 30 seconds, right? You can then use a unit group to get all the units on the map that are barracks and that should do it. |

Event a unit is done being made conditions that unit is equal to elven barrack actions add all units of that type to elvenbarrackgroup Event That timer over there expires actions pick every unit in group elvenbarrackgroup and train 1 frost elf Im Sorry to take up your time with this, but as you can see im one of the most desperate people to map with this editor. :( |

Timer? Additionally, you could order the building to create units and then when they enter the map, order those units. |
| 01-08-2007, 11:07 PM | #13 |
But the buildings need to spawn units every so often |
| 01-08-2007, 11:10 PM | #14 |
Then do every X seconds, spawn X units at X position. BTW, for easier reading, right-click your trigger name (at the top of the trigger box), go to "Copy As Text", and then post that intro [trigger] tags. |
