Importing already made models to 3dsmax in a way that it can be exported with art tools, is a serious matter. Blinkboy has released a tutorial that explains the long process in a very detailed way.

wow thanks, I have no words left. Didn't expected this. I not even expected it to be aproved in such short time. Well guess that I'll try improving the tutorial a bit more.

Tim.
His tutorial is a huge help to the modding community, Archian. It deserves more than just a news article.

Great stuff Blinkboy.

Thanks for your helpful contribution. Nice thing about these import scripts: They either are bugged, limited (fail at importing animations) or unreleased (thus they don't exist).

Anchors might seem relevant to use in your tutorial

Hum you don't have the script that i'm talking about. It's a script from Acathla's team, it is not really finished and they don't want to upload it before a really good release. I imported the model of space marine, it just had some bugs on some animations but it was just fine for my project.

Lol...
Abriko : i got a new very nice script and it can be finished soon, nice news no ?
Litany : No, it's pathetic
Abriko : ok.........

I will.
** /me launching 3dsMax **

@vex: the script we create (with Ayane from Metalplanet) imports animations fine, we just have some problems with tangents but for many of models, we can get rid of that.

I think that's true ;)

I never released my script because of some bugs that don't fit with a public release, the script need to be reworked and it takes time. Last years i was very busy with university, that's why i never did it.

For now, I'm in hollidays, and I hope to be able to release a correct version of this script.
And later, my expansions modules for wmo, and m2 models.

A last word about Abriko, i think the "the language barrier" as you say is the main problem if you add the lack of diplomacy he use to have.
But he isn't bad, just don't take care if his words could sound aggressive. ;)

Humm....... i did not want insult the tuto.. i just made a joke about the tutorial huge size and so the difficulty for a beginner to import succefully a model without problem.
When a beginner will see it, he'll know that importing models is not for him... because in fact, "Importing models" is not for noob.
