Artist Discussion Sub-forum

Greetings to the staff from the snowy plains of Quebec at -20°C

I'll cut to the chase. This morning I wanted to start a thread about an idea I had in the back of my mind at this location :

Artist's Discussion and Queries it is.
(Side note : The thread I wanted to start was a discussion and maybe some submission for abstract map sceneries. Since the Concept Art forum is more of a gallery).

When I went into this forum, I saw that all that lives in there are requests, requests...and request. Even the forge was infected by this.

My take is that the section in question needs a clean up. I personnaly love art (even though I don't draw or do anything art-related at all) and I was looking forward about artist discussions but anyone can understand my disappointment when I saw what there's in there.

My idea is as follow : Create a seperate Sub-forum where all requests can go in there. Leave the main sub-forum (Artist Discussion) just for discussion and to expose art that isn't warcraft 3 related there.
For that to take effect in a proper manner, I would fuse together the Art Gallery and make Concept Art a sub-forum, since it's a gallery too.

Any discussion about this is welcomed of course. Proceeding to off-topic or elitist talking will make me do my -_- face.

But, uh... thats what that section is for... though I agree there isn't enough art discussion, and only requests.

1. you have 6 posts, you shouldn't ask for anything yet
2. queries = requests
3. if you want to show-off your work, use this section or Art Gallery

you should have spent more than a few days on this forum before jumping to conclusions like that. The concept art forum is not a gallery, it's a discussion forum about works in progress and sketches. The gallery is for finished and polished works. Your suggestions have no justification and are useless.

Ok, maybe, but this turned sour. It's a bit sad that I obviously tried to sound intelligent and I got bashed by default because of a mere statistic such as post count. I'll live with it, some sort initiation rite I guess. Don't get me wrong, I am not some expecting, arrogant troll trying to get something after just a small effort, and that is the exact reason why I wanted to start a discussion instead of a blunt demand.

Fine by me it just seemed that a forum, from what the description said was oriented towards queries and discussion turned out to be pretty much one of the former. The art concept forum is what it is, I know that, but it doesn't talk about already made art from other sources, or as such.
Like you said, it was a suggestion, it being with no justification might be false to an extent, as I tend to think of art as something more global. My suggestion basically said that a clean-up about this.
I'm open if other people have something more interesting to forward about this. I'll just make this face now

And I can go on and justify myself if anyone feels they're having fun trying me out, but I'm not that style, and I'll eventually ask an administrator or moderator about closing this topic if it's going the way it seems to be going.

The "Artist's Discussion and Queries" forum is kind of badly named. "Art Requests" it what it's all about. Discussion fits better in the other subforums.

Yes, just to cut it short, the lack of a defined space to draw in a discussion about art, in a general way, not just warcraft 3 related, gets me...
Then at this extent, it might be considered off topic.

This is a Warcraft III forum; discussion about anything beyond that (let alone art) essentially belongs in the off-topic forum.

Then the forum's description tacked me off. Although I still find it a bit odd'ish that there's only requests in that forum, hence why I posted this here.
Everything sounds fair now. What I really didn't want is some sort of post count debate, RDZ's answer was perfectly fine. Hmm, hell, I'm even going to hand him rep for his answer, thank you.
