Okay..I've got a new cinematic coming, I'm thinking of using some sounds for the first time...You know, music and all. But when I import the music the map size become soo BIG as in 7 mb. I read some threads here that reduces the size of sounds...How do I do it?

Thanks in advance!!

You seem to hardly even understand what you are asking. An Mp3 is already a lot smaller than... "PCM". What you can do is re-encode mp3s at lower bitrates, which would yield both lesser filesize and lower sound quality.

Preferrably you want to have a pure non-compressed source from which you make a low-bitrate mp3 for the best size vs quality ratio.

set the sounds to mono i believe that should cut the file sizes in half or get rid of some of the sounds. are there any similar sounds that you can get rid of such as instrumentals that convey the same emotions. To decrease file size you lose quality so set it to mono and hope thats small enough or we can go through the process of giving up quality for smaller file size.

Yeah I think I've figured it out now...
BTW: I'm trying to convert MP3 to PCM so that I can record it with SOUND RECORDER it and delete the unecessary wavs....thus, making the file small.
ANd after that...convert the PCM to MP3 again. ...tnx!!
