Intro to game: working on it
The story im also working on but below are some detail's

Hidden information:
Stat system
Unlike most RPG games, they have a usual "EXP" per monster kill, and a "certain" amount of xp to level
In my ORPG, every attack you make on a monster, you have a 11% chance to gain a stat, which of course, you can change by typing "-strength", "-magic", or "-attack", when your total stats reach a certain amount multipled by your level, you gain a new level.


Heroes
6 races: Dragon, Elf, Dwarf, Mystic, Orc, and Human
For each race, there will be 3 heroes, except for mystic which will have 2 extra (5).


Reincarnation
At levels 150, 400, 700, and 1100, you can reincarnate, to a greater hero...
that hero will have improved abilities, and cooldown etc..
You will reset back to level 1, with no original stats on your new hero,
I may or may not make this cost money later on,
There will be 3 heroes for each section (150,400,700,1100).


Time Travel
At level 1200, you can "time travel" (lol) back in time, and acquire an ultra rare hero, and you will also receive a random rare item that is unobtainable any other way, There will be 3 heroes to pick from once you time travel.

Banks
Able to deposit items from anyway on the map, (up to 18), you can also deposit an unlimited amount of gold / essence,
You also gain interest every couple of minutes
AND you can simply type -bank to instantly visit your banking area,
and walking on a simple "Circle Of Power" will return you to your last location


Item Systems / Info
//Item Stat requirement system
Every item, has a required amount of certain stats,
an example would be "Iron Sword" requires 7 strength, 4 Attack, and no magic


//Items in the game
We will have these types of items
  • Leg Plates
  • Rings
  • Potions
  • Breast Plates
  • Weapons
  • Spells
  • Helms
  • Shields
  • Miscellaneous items, such as "Ankha of reincarnation etc.."


//Players own items
You also own your items, so you can't lose them if you drop them
However, you can give them away to other players (which transfers ownership) (Explained later in Commands)


//Race required item system
Maybe a bit to much, but certain items, require a specific race to use them...
Very basic... but I like it


Other Skills
Well, I am making "prayer" levels and "digging" levels, so whenever you want to dig, you go to a mining area, and you can dig away for special items / money, etc...

Prayer Choices: (Alignment chosen at beginning, evil / good)
Evil, you randomly can be aided by demons etc... in the game (monsters, or giving a temporary increase of speed / damage)
Good, you will also be randomly aided by angels, but can receive + stats or gold sometimes, when fighting monsters...


Commands
I have about 50 commands in this game (all listed in required quests)
a few examples would be

-duel # (asks for a duel between you and player #)
-giveitem # (opens a dialog for you to give items to player #)
-depositgold #/ -withdrawgold # (for bank)
-depositess #/ -withdrawess # (for bank)
-id # (item deposit (drop item in slot # into your treasury))


Story
Currently working on it, bet you didnt except only 10 words

Other
//Backpack
You have a backpack, which follows you around constantly.
(Holds 6 items)


Final Area
//Boss

There will be a boss, at the end based from the total stats of all players, with 250 defense, and alot of HP, he will also have many AoE abilities (very difficult)


//Ultimate units
Same thing as boss, but weaker, for those who are incredibly strong.

Bosses
Bosses will be a hack/slash + AoE spells and (hopefully) unique idea's for killing them


Please give feed back and comments, constructive critism is best, but whatever :)

Any bugs, / improvements, that can be made, please tell me

Im also tossing up what to do about the fact, when you buy an item (and noobs will -.-) and you can't wield it, cause of stat or race requirements
you can't resell it until you have the correct stats (or not at all for race)
however I can't exactly move it to your bank, as noobs will snatch rare items off big players etc...

and it will lead to arguments, so any opinions on this, i'll appreciate it

~ Actually fixed the bug where you didnt revive when you died (Works now)
~ Fixed a bug where the stat system didnt calculate properly
~ Fixed a bug where you lost gold for attacking

WILL THE ALMIGHTY
One thing: text commands are kindof annoying.

You could always make some kind of invulnerable building somewhere to with abilities. Simply use "channel" and trigger them.

The gameplay sounds pretty cool actually.

Please just use the hide function for bigger portions of text which also got a reason for being hidden... Just list all your features in a normal list.

Will try the map when I get home.

Is the text to small to read?

I could, but then it would be a hassle, to go them

I could use a space bar point, to pan cam to building, but honestly, I think it'd be annoying
I had a friend try it, on bnet, with about 8 other ppl, he said they all liked it

So I think text commands are good, since having (60?) or even 20, abilities for commands, would be annoying, you'd have to look through them for the right one, then click it etc..

Thanks for comments though ^_^

Few inital impressions:

1. Manaroth demon guy can be spammed to super gains and damage. I believe its his auto attack ability. By spammed, I mean go up to a monster, then keep a - clicking somewhere on the map. You can do this repeatedly for much damage and skill gain.

2. Healing fountain is annoying, have to be almost on top of the thing to get any benefit.

3. Its always night...

4. Is there any benefit to killing higher level guys? It seems the current system favors keeping your damage low to you can continually gain off smaller guys. Also, killing something is a waste.. You benefit more from keeping it alive for continued gain. Perhaps you can get a garaunteed stat gain from killing a unit? Or something...

5. Items have race requirements that aren't in the game. Haven't tryed buying one yet, so don't know if thats an issue.

6. Any benefits from leveling? Do skills/abilities/spells ever increase?

Otherwise, nice map. Although, I think its going to be impossible to get to lvl 1200 with the current progress. You'd prolly need like 150,000 in each stat to get that...

1: i'lll fix that

2: yea, its triggered, gotta increase range to about 600 :P

3: lol, was attempting something previously, forgot to delete that trig

4: From now, ranges from -2 to +2 of the monster your fighting is "normal gold" anything lower is less, above greater (If your level 4, fighting a lvl 2 monster, then from 0, to lvl 4, you can gain gold
if your level 3, fighting a lvl 5 monster, then from lvl 3, to 7, you can gain gold)

5: its not an issue, I dont think i'd be dumb enough to make triggers for races that aren't there!, they're just a reminder :P

6: Abilities do increase, every 10 levels, leveling, has benefits, E.G at level 3, (maybe it was 5) you can use one of the "teleportation" scrolls to move instantly to rune village, (walking sucks over 256 * 256 map) and yes, they're are benefits, E.G more gold, better items, possibly increased stat chance later on

And uhh more like 500,000 stats each, to get lvl 1200, but it gets easier, every 25 lvls, you get +1 stat, per "percentage" you get, E.G at lvl 25, you have 11% chance to gain 2 stats, lvl 50, 3 stats, lvl 400, thats 17 stats per chance, lol :P

Well, it takes about 28 * hero lvl...

about 20 seconds per stat consistantly, give or take (You can get like 3-4 in a row (doesnt happen often))

but every 25 levels, the amount of stats you gain each "chance" you get, goes up by 1, so, lvl 25, gets 2 stats per chance, lvl 75, has 4

Sorry for double post

Map has been updated after fixing a really problematic bug

Updates: Fixed the stat system, so instead of the first four levels going needing 21, then 6, then 26, then 27, stats
It should follow the order of, 21, 42, 63, 84, 105, etc.. (if it does not, msg me immediately please)

Updates: Also I have nerfed some of the units, and fixed other minor bugs

Updated again, fixed really BAD problem, when you didnt revive, and broke it at the same time (fixing)

Updated the ORPG's revive, it now works properly (tested)

I like the idea of distributing your stats wherever you like, and reincarnation. I want to do that too in my map, since I got the idea from you I'll give you credits for the idea, but not the code for my map. This map sounds like alot of fun, I'll try it when I got the time and not working so hard on mine ^^
