Death and Decay without destroying trees

How would I go about making it so that an ability based off of Death and Decay doesn't destroy trees? I really like the way the Death and Decay effect looks (how the effects pop up randomly in wavelike form) and want to use it for another spell, but the darn dummy spell destroys trees!

Would it be under gameplay constants like the thing for going over the max mana cap with Drain Mana is? If that's the only answer, then that might be a problem because I have another ability based off of Death and Decay that does destroy trees...

I would claim that it is impossible, thus you would have to do something crazy like triggering the damage and effects

well if you just want the effect, u can make it based on flamestrike, that would save u from some crazy triggering of the D&D effects.

for the damage... well timer and trigger i guess :)

Yeah, I could use the flamestrike effect... but it's not the look I was hoping for. Oh well; thanks for the info.

The whole point of D&D is that it does % damage and thus it effects all units equally. Flamestrike does value damage so it might not be what you're looking for.

This is nothing to do with damage; it's about spell art .
