I just downloaded the free trial thingy of milkshape, and i was wondering about animations( i am completly new to this, no idea what i am really doing lol). how do you create multiple animations like stand 1, stand 2, attack, death, etc. Also how many frames should i work in for animating.

24 frames per second, the default.

These are defined in the main model comment, and the full animation timeline is split up on export to MDL. Check the stickies for Guesst's exporter.

thanks for telling me how to make the multiple anims things, but about the frames thing. I mean at the bottom of the screen while animating there is two boxes with numbers, and when you hold your curor over them the one on the left says current frame, and the one on the right says total frames. what should i put total frames to

As many as you need. That number is arbitrary in the case of Warcraft animations; as far as Warcraft knows, the animation timeline is infinite. Keep it only a few above the number of frames you're currently using, and then extend it as you build up your sequences -- so the little ticks remain easy to navigate for longer.

Is there any way to speed up animations in milkshape

Not without taking all the keyframes and shunting them around manually.

In Warcraft will any of the animations change? like speed up or slow down.

Nope.

Except walk animations, whose speed can be altered using the Art - Animation Walk Speed [run speed] field in the object editor. This value is how much ground the unit covers in a single walk cycle.

Remember to run the zero joints plugin before you animate!

Also, since 24 frames is 1 second, most sequences should be about this length, except long (and rare) stand sequences, maybe spell casts etc.
