Guest | How can I make it look like my character is on fire? Like after a fire ball hits him or whatever. I dont just want a quick effect. I want him to remain on fire. And also related, how can a doodad be "set on fire" in a trigger? I know how to place a fire doodad in the WE, but I can't seem to find a way to do it in a trigger. Thanks. Break. |

You can use the action Create speacial effect on unit there is some info abou the special effects on other places in the forum just do a search for all the variables http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...eacial+effects that has the unit areas There is a download for a browser that has all the SFX graphics in this thread http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...&threadid=8243 |

Guest | I'm talking about a realistic fire not a spell special effect, I know how to attach an effect *sigh*...I want a realistic fire like the fire doodad, but on a unit. |

You can attach any .mdl to the unit this way, including doodads. Please go into the second link posted above, and download the special effects browser - it has over 400 different effects that you can use as a sample. |

Guest | I tried to attach the mdl for the doodad fire, but it didn't work. There was no effect at all. That effect browser is only for spell effects(which are not continuous when attached). I don't want to use any of the spell effects. |

Guest | I see....I saw one other post that had a character on fire. The fire doodad didn't work but I will try the Environment\LargeBuildingFire\LargeBuildingFire0.mdx . Sux, I'm at work...can't try it till I get home. Thanks for your help. |

The fire has to work. On my Predator Map I have units catch fire, and it stays on forever (which I don't like). I forgot what the fire path was, I think it was small fire column, or fire rocks. You could DL may map at the retail maps and look for you're self. |

Just a small note, the special effects browser is not just spell effects. Not sure if you noticed, but you have to click on the different units at the bottom to get some of the other effects to show over the footmen. For example, one of the effects attached is the intro image for each of the races, e.g. the night elf intro has the night elf chick standing there. Also the large building fire effect works, I have done that on one of my maps before as well. |

Guest | Yeah...guess your right, more than just spell effects. but it didn't have what I wanted. Spyder- yes, it was SmallRockFire is what I ended up using. TheVillageFireEmitter was way too big for my characters. break. |

To fix this problem you can either look for a different fire effect, or worst case scenario, make your own fire effect... |
