Once again i could use some help with abilities i'm trying to make an ability kind of like entangling root except it would cover an area instead of just one unit, and instead of roots, ice. A line attack similar to anime fight's where the hero dashes through enemies dealing 2xAgi an ability that makes enemies run away from the unit. an ability that would launch opponents into the air. this is more triggers than abilities but how would i make an ability summon a whole bunch of units around the casting unit then have them move towards that unit, play an animation, and finally transform the caster. |

a) Use a "dummy ability" (an ability which does nothing except detecting when the caster casts the spell) and base it on Silence (with "none" on the "Targets allowed" field so it won't silence anyone) or another area spell and give it to your hero. b) Create a spell based on "Entangling Roots", but change its buff in order to make it equal to "Frost Breath"'s one (so the target will be covered in ice). c) Create a Dummy Caster, a unit with no graphic model, no attack, no shade and with the "locust" ability. d) Make a trigger that fires when your hero casts your "Dummy Ability" and then, for each unit in the target area, create a dummy caster and order it to cast your "Entangling Roots" (the one with the buff changed) over the target units. Ok now i have the event and condition set up but what should the action look like and how would this cause different damage for different levels? Do i need to mke a trigger for each level? |

Make the modified entangling roots (the one your dummy will cast) have 3 (or more) levels in the Object Editor. Then make a different trigger that sets the level of unit Dummy "Entangling Roots" ability equal to <level of "Hero's ability>. |

For your Ice move, make a dummy ability that's an AoE, then make an ability based off of Entangling Roots except make the buff for it the Freezing Breath special effect (Frost Wyrm's ability). Ok, screw that, look in tutorials. First place to check, geez. Your launch air move, I suggest make a storm bolt move except when it hits, you use triggers to add then remove the Crow Form Ability then, change flying height. As for the other ones, use your fucking brain. I am fucking pissed off at people who don't read the stickies and post the most ridiculous things like "H0w od i op3n pr0tctd maps? DUH, ME WANT STEAL MAPZORS ZOMFG LAWL!" Fuck you, use your BRAIN. You should be thinking alot more than talking. 'Tis wiser to not speak, then act the fool that does. AKA LOOK A LITTLE. I search the forums for any info on abilities, I try making these on my own, if i cannot find the info or make it succusefully, i make a topic. So DON'T SPAZ AT ME!!! |

Point is, tutorials. There is one based off of an AoE Polymorph. LOOK AT THAT AND USE YOUR MIND. Geez, the nerve of some people. |
