Hey, forum, this is my first post, so please excuse any slight errors in etiquette. If this is posted in the wrong sub-forum, please feel free to move it
Anyways, I'm an amateur mapper/modder with some modicum of artistic talent... and I often find myself bored doing pure mapping stuff, so I've decided to take requests for tileset work. (No, I'm not masochistic, I'm just bored. I also think we don't have enough custom tilesets to play with, so I've volunteered myself to make some)
Heres how requests will go. You post a reply to this message, including a base tile, a general theme, and a few links to some source images. For example, you might say
Then I'll send you a couple private messages with some works-in-progress until we get something you like.
Some caveats:
1) I will only work on one at a time. I'm not uber-l33t.
2) I pick whichever request interests me most.
3) Requests for cliffs are more likely to be done- they're more interesting.
4) The end result probably won't be exactly what you wanted.
5) The more hi-quality pictures you link to, the closer the end result
6) The end result will be shared with the community here.
7) Turn-around time is close to a week.
The attached images are an example of my work. The image is a texture being used in an upcoming map, which I'll release after the map is finished.
