[][] Zycat A.I [][] An A.I mod for melee games Compatible with Warcraft III : Frozen Throne (latest version recommended) NOT Compatible with Warcraft III : Rain of Chaos Instructions To start playing with Zycat A.I, run (double click) the executable ZycatAI.exe Afterwards, just start playing like you normally would and Zycat A.I will automatically be used in place of the standard Computer A.I. Of course, to benefit from the A.I you must have a computer player assigned to one of the slots because this mod changes nothing except the A.I. If you want to set up a LAN/Networked game with multiple human players you will need everyone to run the same version of Zycat A.I, otherwise the game would not sync properly even if you don't have a computer player. Note that you won't be able to view any replays that you made with this A.I without running the EXACT SAME VERSION of Zycat A.I first. ----- Features * A dynamic unit composition, depending on the enemies' units. No longer the A.I is restricted to certain builds and units. * Slightly randomized strategies to keep the enemies' guessing. * Will pick and use neutral heroes as well as mercenaries. * Improved micro-management skills. * A weaker, totally random A.I on Easy difficulty for those who are just learning the basics of the game. It is even weaker than the standard Blizzard's A.I on the same difficulty. * A new Random Hero mode featuring customized normal unit instead of heroes. Gameplay will still proceed like a normal melee (you still get 3 heroes, first heroes are still free, etc.) == Comments? Suggestions? E-mail me at [email protected] == ----- Thanks to : ----- Blizzard Entertainment for creating a wonderful game The AMAI team (AIAndy, Zalamander, Strategy Master) for their AMAI which has been a source inspiration PipeDream for his Grimoire (http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=86652) Vexorian for his Map Optimizer and his advice You! for playing with this A.I ----- Version History ----- 0.86a - o Optimized unit building even further o Decreased chance for Orc to go Blademaster for first hero, increased chance to go Far Seer for first hero. * Fixed a bug preventing the A.I to upgrade to Tier 3 0.86 - + Changed Random Hero mode. Random Hero will now provide a customized normal unit instead of a hero. Gameplay will proceed like normal. + Added some more hero harassment routines for Demon Hunter + Added attempts to creepjack the enemies o Greatly improved injured units handling. o Improved town threatened handling o Improved the Blademaster harassment o Improved retreat control o Night Elves now upgrade to bears correctly * Fixed a bug with main attack group not adding units to the group * Fixed a bug with groups stuck in base * Fixed a bug with the A.I trying to expand when there are no gold mines left, resulting in a "dead" A.I 0.85 - o Scaling now works better (The more A.I present in one game, the less processing each A.I makes) o Optimized some of the functions * (Hopefully) fixed attack groups sometimes not fleeing * Fixed militias sometimes not attacking the target (now it does attack move instead of attacking a specific target) * Fixed a lot of double free of location errors * Fixed an issue with major lag in one of the functions * Fixed several divide by zero errors, one of which potentially crippling the A.I * Fixed a major location leak 0.8 - Public Beta |

Well it plays all races, so no, although in this version the Night Elves may use that combo often because of their calculated effectiveness usually far above the others. Even if it does, there's still issues with Blizzard's original micro and attacking sequence which plain sucks. |

woooo. OK now feedback from my quick game watch. 1 insane, 2 medium, 1 easy on lost temple (TFT) Blue Humans took a while to start building and then when they did decide to start building they built a lumber mill first?? I like the little feature of the militia going with the army, but when attacking first creeps it didn't really help apart from wander around the creeps while the creeps hit the lil militia. Seems to be the only issues i noticed but heres the replay. Its not to the end of game, i only watched to just pretty much after they upgraded to tier 2. Replay Warcraft version 1.21 |

Blue Human is probably the "Easy" computer, which is intended for those who are just starting to play Warcraft III. I have friends who are just starting and they found that even the standard comp on Easy is too much for them, and thus I made my Easy mode a lot easier than the standard comp (in other words, ub3r n00b mode... every race will behave like a total noob, like attacking red camps with only a hero and 2 footies and stockpiling 3000 gold and wood :D... and every race will build lumber mill or equivalent and shops before they build anything ) Plus, easy computers have a handicap such that they will not build armies larger than their enemies, so to not overpowering those who are just learning the basics. But the militia... hmm... it's just wrong. Thanks. I think I know the issue, the assigned creep "target" for the militia has already been killed by the night elves... @Jacek Well uh, it isn't as easy as it seems for the A.I. Really, you have to consider that the A.I must make transition from archer/hunts (tier 1) to tier 2 dryads and then bears. Plus, they have to decide when to expand, when to attack, etc. Actually I have an easier time implementing mass fiends + 2 statues + 2 destroyers because it doesn't have too much to decide (fiends are tier 1 after all, so you can start massing them right away) And A.I has no spatial reasoning whatsoever. They see the world differently than us. |

Well, the n00b mode sounds fun. XD And, though I've not tried it, might make for some variation..? Don't know. |

Yeah, but let's think about it, what are the other things that you can do besides improving performance for a melee A.I? |

A fully fast, non slow down A* pathfinding algorithm, island expansionis, zepplin usage to expand to impassible areas, An AI that can pass the Turing test effectivly becoming classified as a real artificial intelligence that learns by itself and can fool any human that its human. If thats not enough it could always just do the opposite and do mass cheating ai that cheats beyond all imagination. one moment a peasant next moment 2000 destroyers and extreme lag :P = Victory for ai Or get the ai to position its units in a game of chess by itself and depending on what it does in the chess depicts what type of attack it does against the enemy player. Technically this seems actually possible. hmmm interesting ![]() |

Those things you mentioned ARE performance related, aren't they? Well if JASS weren't this slow then these maybe implementable, but unfortunately, JASS is too slow. @Eyepoke I think there's a rare bug (I've seen it myself) that my computer basically lag like hell. I'm still not sure what causes it. P.S did anyone get harassed by a blademaster? I want a feedback of how well it is vs real humans. After this, I'll make some more harassment techniques. |
