Yeah...
Well I finished the terrain for my next AoS map today and decided to post a few pictures here for your viewing pleasure.

Zoom (requires log in)
This is the AoS layout.
The bases will be on the left and the right, and the lanes will follow the red lines shown.
The four smaller circles at the top/bot are the expansions.

Anyways, feel free to comment!

Looks pretty so far, keep up the good work. I can't wait until you begin to add structures and everything which will make it look even better. :) o.0!

The Desert of Exile A.K.A. Advent of the Zenith tropical version. Just kidding.

The terrain is great, actually Barrens tileset is in my opinion one of the best looking tileset without using too much doodads.

I suggest not to use many cliffs, avoid them if possible. It will give to the terrain a natural looking. Try to use pathing blockers and rocks instead.

Good job.

Locks nice from what I see, but wait a sec... new AoS?
What happened to AotZ?

AotZ still exists.
I don't have much left to do to finish it though, like Moyack said.
So yeah.

WILL THE ALMIGHTY
What about the skelly hero you left out?

He'll come back in AotZ, don't worry.
His spot is even still there. :P

Its sexy, but i really dont know how you are going to make heros, idk... to me, i would wonder why there would be a "Water" based person in the barrens, but meh, its just to me... but keep up the good work!

*LOL*

I thought your next project is going to be a RPG in the AotZ setting?
Is this still going to happen or did you totally change your plans dusk?

Anyways, the terrain looks cool so far...

Oooh... new dusk aos, nice. Desert setting is interesting, though it might indeed be a little limiting, not too much. If we (B&B) can have two desert fellows running around in a forest then i see no reason why the opposite wont work.

The terrain itself looks verry verry verry verry verry boring. Barely any ways to sneak around, no interesting cliffs to manipulate sight, its really generic and dull.

I would suggest to look at dota terrain, preferably really old dota (roc), up to date its still got the best playable terrain. Looks like poop, perhaps, but its effective.

All in due time.
The problem with RPGs is that they take a lot of time.
I can make an AoS in a week.

You can safely expect to hear more about AV during the summer when I have long sprees of time I can dedicate to mapping.
Until then, you'll hear more about DoE. :P

Seeing the cliffs in a top-down view would be rather difficult, I can imagine. :P

Just ask Blu, he practically spazzed over it when I showed him in-game.
In any case, I added an updated picture with cliffs highlighted.

Does that kinda help to put it in perspective?

Functionally speaking, I think the terrain will do its job really well *and* look pretty.
Best of both worlds?

Rising: I think you should post more pictures of the cliffs in perspective view, so we can appreciate your terrain better and give more useful comments.
