visible in editor but not in testgame..

Hallo,
i have a problem with republicolas dexporter tutorial:

i converted the original tentacle with yobguls converter into an mdx file and imported them with the import manager and object editor, after the restart of the editor the tentacle becomes visible, so far so good

when i start the testgame now the tentacle is gone and u can only see the standard shadow on the ground, its also not possible to directly click the unit

i tryed importing an original mdx (the rat critter) and also the tentacle with original textures (the ones of the rat) - both worked fine, so i the problem seems to be that the game itself cant recognize the imported textures like the editor, where exactly keeps the game the imported textures? does it save them into the maps? what could be the reason for the game not recognizing the imported textures?
