Good for the first ever WE opening. Could be improved, but for a playable map it's fine. |

The road seems a little too jagged. You could try smoothing it out a bit. Other than that, it is good. Good use of shrubs and flowers, too. |

Pretty good for a first. Lacks a bit of atmosphere tho. The fog color isnt really good, it takes away feeling. It's also a bit... monotonous, try doing something about that. Also smoothen out the ground abit like veev said. |

Not bad. Reminds me of my stuff when I started out A little jaggy in some areas perhaps? |

I like it. great job for your first time... Keep it up. |

Ah, nostalgic, clean and efficient. Nothing at all like my first terrain - placing every which doodad in Lordaeron Summer on a 64x64 map, making a VERY cramped melee map. I can't really say anything about this, but keep on playing with the Editor - even try going on GoogleImages and searching up something to replicate and experiment. |

well, it's good you liked it i'm working on a new map now with a river, a road, an anchor, and a house on a cliff. that won't be so monotonous i guess. i'll post the results when i'm done |

Did you use the noise tool? If you did, welcome to terraining 101, never touch the noise button, ever. It looks pretty well organized, flatten out that rocky road there, and throw a bit more of tile variation and you should be on your way. NEVER TOUCH THE NOISE BUTTON |

I think it looks awsome. For a first, and I think you couldn't do better for a first opening. I post more tommorow, it's late now. |

Wow thats great for a first try! It needs to be smoothed a bit like everyone else said, but still great |

The tile variation is good, and the doodad placement seems pretty good, too, although I'm no pro. However, noise is not your friend. The noise too is horrible, and serves only to ruin the terrain. Stip off the doodads and shadows (view menu) in the editor and look at the terrain underneath; it looks really point and un-natural. I can't speak for others, and more experienced terrainers probably do things differenctly, but what I do is use the raise tool on a fairly large brush, and keep clicking around semi-randomly, more in areas I want higher, and less when I want things lower. After that I review the terrain, lowering in the same manner areas too high. Finally, I run the smooth too over it to stop it looking jagged. Anyway, I'd say try that, the terrain would come out looking pretty pro, I think. =) |

Overall, the terrain seems nice to me. It really shows the rain / bumpy road / narrows forest path. I can feel the muddy road and swaying trees from my monitor here. Nice job. |

In terraining, there are several tips. One of them is not to use noise, it always looks ugly. Other is to to avoid a much as possible the natural cliffs, they looks ugly many times (of course, there are some exceptions like barrens tileset). Good job Mr. Nice guy. |
