Yeah, I'm kinda new to the site (Hate being a newbie >.<) and I've been having trouble downloading a lot of the demo maps off this site, whenever I go to a thread with a downloadable map i'll click on it... open... then it will load in world editor and will crash when the progress bar gets to triggers. If I save the map and go into WC3 TFT and try to play it, WC3 crashes... If anybody could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated! (And if I posted this in the wrong spot please point me to the right one... ) |

Well first some systems (demo maps) require Grimore a.k.a Jassnewgenv2. Plus you are to save it not open it as well cause if you do so yr ripping off Wc3c bandwidth. -Av3n |

What you need to do is to put the map you downloaded to your warcraft III map directory, example "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\<place the map in this folder>". If you double click on it It will just be opened by the World Editor and as Av3n says some maps require things I'm unfamiliar with since I'm also new too, lol. Hope this helps solve your problem. ![]() |

It's possible that the map is protected. Specifically, what is a map that you cannot open? |

Well, I downloaded the JassNewGen Pack... but either I'm doing something wrong or it doesn't like my computer because every time I try to do anything with it I get the Windows, "worldedit.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." so if you have any advice I could use it. As to what maps and such I try to use, there are some I want to play such as Jurassic Exploaration by olofmoleman, but when I try to play it in WC3, WC3 just acts as though I haven't clicked on anything. Then there are some I'd like to open in World Editor (atleast I think so....) like Daelin's Scarlet Crusader, but when I try to open that (or play it) I get the "Windows has encountered a problem" thing... So any help for any of these problems would be appreciated. And if I am doing something totally wrong... please inform me >.< |
