Magic Crystals

As the stupid Warcraft engine seems to be different from Art Tools preview, I will have to delay this pack (hopefully I'll be actually be able to release it). This is how they look in the previewer (I am attempting to "fix" them for Warcraft).

You should use the "Aura of Blight" aura FX for the darkness one instead of the gigantor skull.
I think it might look better.

Also, perhaps a brown-tinted endurance aura for the earth one instead of the roar.
It kinda looks silly as is, and the endurance aura would maybe look better.

Just a few thoughts of mine though, nice work in either case.

Those look pretty slick. I'm not a big fan of the pure black color (if it's not pure black, please correct me. My monitor's getting dark) on the one using the Roar buff graphic, though. I think something yellow or maybe orange might work better. I'd also have to agree that the skull effect might be better replaced with something else, but it's hard to tell with a non-animated view. Either way, nice little crystals. WC3 needs more little models like these.

the skull on the purple/black one looks bad but otherwise it looks good. the black one with the battle roar buff texture looks bad but the others look good. +rep

I had the same problem when making the Christmas Tree model, but when I checked "Compute Bounds" on the previewer options it finally worked well(I mean the viewer looked like it would look ingame)... try that, it might work.

Anyways, these crystals are great, even though you could try making them more random shaped.

Actually problem is with materials I've used (mostly modulate, modulate 2x and additive) so they can get messed up due to the environment. We'll see... I may try combine with an opaque crystal and see what I get.

Ah, materials.

Take note that 'Additive' in the Materials panel actually means AddAlpha. You want the one above it for actual Additive.

I suggest you don't use Modulate of any description unless you know what you're doing, you can get some very interesting effects with Modulate, but it's very hard to use properly without screwing yourself over.
