Ok well, I have been using the program from this site that makes it easy to install and use all the programs for advanced map making. Im not sure what it is called, cause I have already uninstalled it in frustration. Anyways, theres a world editor patch that you can install from inside that program. This jacked up patch, which I can find no logical reason to be "good" or better than the original has totally screwed my map making fun. For starters, all my doodads are now gigantic, and I cant just make normal trees anymore. Insead, they are 100-3000 times bigger then they started as. I have reinstalled war3, and the program that did it in the first place has been gone forever. Basically, I am asking if theres a way to get that God-forsaken patch off my computer, cause all it is doing is jacking things up. My maps when I try to even "click" on them to make a game, just totally freeze instantly, and lock war3 up. Cant even see the minimap or anything, it just locks. Well I think I am done whining and complaining now, so if you know a way to get doodads back to normal, then please tell me. Thanks. ://// |

Guest | Please tell the name of this "patch". As far as I know, every downloadable thing here to the WorldEditor has uninstall directions. |

I think it was called something like the "No boundaries" Program. It may or may not have came with the program that organizes things, cause i didnt download it separate. |

It was called W3M Map Utilities. I used the so called "upgrade" that was inside it to make my world editor more powerful. But for the basic operations that I can now not do, its definately not worth it. I still have no idea what so ever why it wants to be gay to me. I have uninstalled it and have reinstalled war3, and it still servives on my comp. The only thing I can think of is that I was using my map inside of it before I uninstalled. Cause it might be there as a default, if i used some of the stuff from that version. I dunno, I just want it gone. |

Guest | Well firstly, check if you have a folder in your WC3 folder called Doodads. If you do, delete it. Also, the locking thing, this prolly means ur map is corupt. Does it happen if you try to open it in WE too? |

Ya, theres not a doodad folder, and it IS corrupt, i know that much. Luckily i had an earlier verison, so not all is lost. I tried it in a solo custom game, and i tried it on bnet, each time i tried it locked cause i think i used a "doodad" from that stupid program. I really dont want to have to start over.....I hope theres a way to get it off, or at least build normal sized doodads without it locking up on me. |

No ideas guys? I really really need your support right now. Its hard not being able to place normal sized doodads. Im not sure if even its possible to play with big doodads online, cause it crashed all the sudden...... ://// emote_sweat :nono: ://// :( |

He said there isnt one! Anyway, try selecting the doodad and double clicking, and see if you can set it's size too 100% and it should go to standard. If you unselect the option for "Random Doodad Size" it should place all your doodads at 100% as soon as you place them. I imagine the program simply allowed you to make doodads as big as you wanted, but as a side effect doodads could randomly become infinitly big if you have random size on :P Anyway, just give it a try |

Guest | Oh! Oooooops. Sorry dude.... |

Hey, how to I turn it off? Do you know? Cause if i knew that was there, I wouldnt be having this problem. Sorry to complain....Im just real frustraighted, cause i just got this new comp, and its starting to become dumb because of programs that insist apon being memory hoggers. Thanks a lot though. I just need to figure out how to do what you said Dinadan87. |

Ok it's pretty simple. On the doodad layer windows (the window that lets you choose terrain, units, doodads, regions, and cameras) at the top of the menu there are buttons. The one on the left for Random Rotation, and there are three more that have to do with Random Size, so turn all three of those off... of course itll get annoying if you want varying tree sizes, since youll have to edit each trees size individually, but its better than million foot tall trees i guess. It's not a perfect solution, but it's the best I can think of (and hopefully it works...) |
