Demonhunter to Gladiator

Well i have been following denu's illidan skin and i got bored of my hollow skin so i decided to take a break and i skinned the demonhunter(just cause it was already extracted).

Skinning is more then recoloring and slapping on cardboard armor.

Google some gladiator images and check out how their armor looks (pay attention to the colors).

Firstly, ewrt you contradicted yourself. Since it appears that I "Slapped on cardboard armor" it can not be a recolor due to the fact that a recolor retains the same appearance.

Secondly, Due to the fact that the rest of the model is gray and unchaged, it should be and must be assumed that is unfinished. This assumption is furthered by the fact that this skin is located in the WIP section and that i have never given you reason to think that i will stop at a recolor.

Thirdly, You're absolutely right about the armor looking like cardboard. Here is an update as I put along. maybe you can give me some advice any suggestions on how to make the panels on his arm appear to overlap, right know they look like almost an oversized scale mail rather then a Bronze platemail

I suggest that you google some gladiator images for reference, like Denu said, cuz right now i can tell that it won´t look like one at all. Besides that, there´s nothing more to comment on the skin, since you are just showing a "1 min" work...

and put carboard armor over the recolor. I didnt contradict myself, i know perfectly well what i'm talking about.

I'm also really hating the yu-gi-oh eyes, its hidious.

If you want your armor to look like metal, you have to make it look shiny. Metal reflects light and shadow a lot more intensely then cardboard, wich it now kind of looks like. Or wet toilet paper...

I want to know am i going in the right direction with my highlighs and shadows on on the torso oh and erwt i dont follow on the eyes do you think they'd look better as blank whites with just pupils?i really didnt think the eyes were that big.

oh and to all those who keep saying that i ned to look at gladiator armour i say that i did when i started it and i assure them that every piece of equipmeant that i have started on him has infact been depicted as gladiator equipmeant

And you need MAJOOORRR league shadows on dat chest

the arms... oh i must have hit the button to remove texture 2 dun worry about that and as for shadows on the chest do you meen more all over or more on a specific area(ie chest vs abs or obliques)

you have barely no shading or contrast what soever... the armor looks the same in every pic.

Hw about now? does it still look like cardboard? Ignore The belt since it is still the same as the first pic and the grieves and faceplate are the same as picture 2

It doesn´t look like a gladiator and what you did doesn´t look like armor.

If you guys feel that despite the fact that these were all well used pieces of gladitor weapons then i will change the name.
secondly i realise i need to fix the arm guard next so for the time being will you please tell me 1 thing? and that 1 thing is does the breast plate look like a breast plate? and if not how can i fix it?
